Our planet might not be, but the cosmos at large is mostly dead. Most of the civilizations that have or ever will exist in any of these galaxies have come to pass. Maybe we’re in some kind of magical Goldilocks time zone where we can explore our galaxy without putting up with anyone else, we’ll just get to rummage through the bones of alien societies for free shit. We might have to contend with lingering extraterrestrial military robots, but how could we not roll those dice?

I have to take issue with this. You don't know what future eons have in store for celestial bodies crashing into each other creating new planets with satellites around whatever stars.

Those events are unlikely. We see them with relative frequency because it’s a big sky and we’re looking. Star formation is mostly done. Whoever else is out there is huddling alone in their own backwater stretch of their galaxies wondering what’s going on, like us.

"Star formation is mostly done"? Where are you getting this information?

I made my male Shepard meld with the Ardat Yakshi and he DIED 😱

So you slept with the person they explicitly warned you not to sleep with... and died

Not really. I always saved Samara and just killed Morinth. You can't even sleep with Samara. Uptight bitch.

I've always wanted to see what happens if you take Morinth instead.

Samara's got like religious vows so I'm not mad about not being able to romance her. Plus she probably only likes other Asari since she's responsible for all the Ardat Yakshi.

However the amount of cleavage for a warrior nun is pretty outrageous

Lining this thread up along that other thread of homeless people being the backbone of civilization, I can only assume this dude's trying to be an edg doomsdayer, but doesn't really go outside or even watches TV.......And his bong looks like Nab's fish tanks.

The fuck are you talking about? It’s a reasonable hypothesis that we’re one of the first space faring civilizations.

Equally reasonable that we’re among the last.

Considering it took 3 billion years for life to develop and the universe is observably 14 billion years old containing trillions of stars younger than ours along with those constantly forming I'd say this is an unfair assessment.

Not to mention our observation and exploration of the universe is akin to that first amphibian that started gnawing on the grass at the edge of the stream.

Screw your “facts”! Just let me have this fantasy.

If you're speaking of red shift this line of reasoning is outdated.

Tell that to the dinosaurs

That show went on for around 200 million years? I had no idea I was watching re-runs back in the day. Huh

It's like when you play stellaris and it's like you're jumping into a game where a bunch of AI species started way before you and others haven't even begun to start yet, and then when they do, you're to them what the other ancient ones were to you when you first started.

Dinosaur as the classification not the sitcom. Though it is interesting to think how long dinosaurs were around for. Like The T-Rex is closer to Humans in years than it would be to the Stegosaurus

Now we have miniature feathered dinosaurs that taste awesome. Who’s dinner now, bitch?!

When I played minecraft I played with monsters on for a while, and later I started turning them off to build things, and then I kinda left minecraft alone. I'm more into Mercenary Kings.
