why the heck did everyone (i remember) have one in like 1997

I didn't know anyone with one...I just remember reading an article about them in some magazine about how they were ineffective and easy to release.

Well I lived in the deep south where people didn't even lock their dorrs....We had guns, not clubs....And the area has so few people, you knew who had you shit if it was stolen.

He must have some kind of placebo effect from doing it.  No one is stealing a Tacoma with 300k on it.

I still have the key from mine. I don't know what happened to the club itself - I used to keep it next to the bed when I lived in my apartment.

I see them on some cars from time to time. Usually shitty ones that no one would steal anyway and not even in the rougher neighborhoods.

i'm surprised people still even use them. i never saw the point to them when they were popular

i always thought it was for like if you wanted to have something in your car to hit someone over the head with but you didn't want anyone to think you had it for hitting someone over the head with. hence the name?

That's why I kept it next to the bed - it was heavier than a baseball bat, and had a couple of prongs sticking out that looked like they'd do some fair damage.

I remember my mom had one. She gave me one when I got my 97 chevy metro but I never used it because I figured nobody wanted to steal my car anyway. I used to leave my doors unlocked too xD

If I were to purchase a used 1999 Oldsmobile for a fair price, I would hope a bar would come included in the trunk. If not I would slightly disappointed.

i purchased a '99 olds cutlass sierra. had one in the trunk.

i didn't use it. but i wasn't mad it was in there.

I'd rather have "Trunk Monkey".

It's been said: The Club.

I mainly see them now on 300,000 mile "disposable cars", probably because they are on their third (insert expensive drivetrain component here), and usually they're a standard.
