SwimModSponges Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Not like a small park with like a swingset and maybe a couple grills. Im talking a big park, with hiking trails and campgrounds and scenic overlooks and shit. Me? Way too goddamn long. Upwards of 5 years. I don't think quite ten, but pretty dang close. I need to get back to nature, brother.
fuggstop Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Right after spring started. Paid $5 to get in and almost got lost in the woods walking the 2 mile trail...by myself...with bugs and snakes. Never again.
QueenoftheDorks Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Oof man like two years? I used to hang out in the state park up by the lake when my aunt worked up there (I would go after work because I usually picked her up.)

tsar4 Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Maybe 2003? That was probably the last time I went to watch the fireworks at Grant Park in Chicago. I was going to go the next year for Taste of Chicago, even walked to an ATM a couple blocks away to get some cash for it, then after getting cash decided against it. Got home after getting some Chinese food and found out there'd been shots fired at the entrance I would have gone in about the same time I would have got there.
André Toulon Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 I was in Turner Falls last week.......Well, I guess week before last now.
DragonSinger Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Maybe six years or more. I have shitty joints, so walking around trails and stuff doesn't appeal to me when there are perfectly good small parks to chill at.

Hmmm never.... i think?.... i mean my fam used to go to this place called otter lake and live in a cabin...and we would walk through the woods, ride horses....canoe... then let’s see....we hiked up white face mountain and bald mountain in the Adirondacks.... parks were for school....
little_girl_lost Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 many years as a kid, I used to play here no campgrounds and no sleeping in the woods unless you wanted to get murdered by transients
Hornshire Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 There's a nature preserve with trails for walking or biking or horses and such just down the road that We stroll through fairly regularly. They don't have any camping though. There's a place on a lake that's about an hour away that Our family has sort of designated as the new big get-together location now that grandma's farm is not available (they sold the literal one when she bought the proverbial one). It's got a lodge, plus some cabins, as well as a camp site for tents or RVs or whatever. We were there last April, and We think there's going to be another in September.
Satou Kazuma Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 (edited) give or take 4-5 plus years since i last went to a state and or national park. Edited August 6, 2018 by Hachiman
SwimModSponges Posted August 5, 2018 Author Posted August 5, 2018 I got several parks really close by; i mean at least two are within a 20 minute walk or so, probably less. I have no excuse. Just played some minigolf though, so that was fun.

That's like, a mile away. How do you not. East TN is almost nothing but state and national parks and wildlife preserves and general rural spaces so I get that my situation isn't typical, but some of these answers sound totally insane. Five years or more?? Not even a day trip?
Phillies Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 I don't even remember the last time I walked upstairs
