i might not be able to save this job but i can try to not let my career die in my 20's

This is an extremely warped view, you know you don't have like a permanent record or anything right

speaking of my time, time to go to sleep and see if shit's going to hit the fan this week or if it's going to hit next week when my manager is back

Have fun stressing over nothing.

i'm honestly not sure if i can survive losing this job. it's been a while since i've been legitimately concerned

Did you get fired yet?Ā  I personally think you are likely to get fired and everyone else is just trying to make you feel better.

"nothing" the principal is putting a black mark on his permanent record, that's a career killer in his industry. There's no coming back from this.Ā

Breathe, motherfucker. Every day is a new day and shit. A new beginning is the best ending, so fuck it, fucker. Go outside and read a book. Listen to a song that isnā€™t on the radio. Go volunteer. Smile at the homeless. Keep all your suits for the funerals.

i was told to consider looking at other positions. I TOLD YOU ASSHOLES AND NO ONE FUCKING LISTENS TO ME

Weren't you saying not long ago that your current job was going to start requiring 24/7 availability anyway? Staying there for that sounds like a fate worse than unemployment.Ā

Put your career on hold, there's nothing wrong with that, get a stress free job that won't drive you crazy and will give you avenues to meet new people your own age, and just have fun for awhile. Get a qt gf with tats or whatever you feel like has been missing from your life. Embrace this opportunity to take a break and get your mind right and remind yourself that you can do w/e you want, you will always be able to return to IT at any time.Ā

why is it such a career killer?Ā  are you a career criminal or something?

in my industry there's a license that you need in order to work. you HAVE to be truthful when you get interviewed for it because it is a felony if they find out that you're lying. one of the questions asked is whether you've ever been fired or written up. if you answer that question yes, and don't have a really really reaaaaaaally good reason then you're fucked

Coworker made a complete ass of both him and me. Sent a nasty email to upper management. Included my name in it. Companies don't like complainers. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuckĀ

Get another job then quit before they fire you.

You have a very identifiable reason? If you can explain the truth of the situation adequately it seems fine. Unless the truth makes you come across as a piece of shit, then you're fucked.

Whether you get fired or not, you need to change your attitude about playing the nice guy when someone is fucking you over. Especially since this is a career that's very important to you.Ā

I still really don't understand this whole situation. Like what's the big deal with sending a "nasty e-mail". In a normal industry I can't imagine they'd even fire the sender (unless you're talking "death threats" level of nasty,Ā this is a repeat behavior, or they were looking for an excuse to fire them), and I can't imagine they'd do anything toĀ some person that didn't even have anything to do with it.Ā I can imagine they'd reprimand the sender somehow but I don't see why they'd ever do anything to the person that had nothing to do with it. I'm genuinely asking help me understand why this is such a big deal beyond "Hurr durr industry permanent record."

Like seriously is Regina George your boss or something? Is there a Burn Book in this "industry" of yours? If so why the fuck would you want to be a part of that shit.

At this point, I wouldn't worry about the co-worker. I'd just say you didn't know about the email until after it had been sent and you never wanted anything to do with it.

If the co-worker is actually a good friend he should understand that what he did unnecessarily got you into trouble. Then again, I don't think he would have included you in the first place if he were.
