Doom Metal Alchemist Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 As we all know, pizza is fucking delicious, but so unhealthy. Apparently eating a sandwich on whole wheat bread is a great deal healthier than eating the same sandwich on white bread... so what about whole-wheat pizza crust? It would be like eating a ham and cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread... but it's pizza! I think...? 1
Clu Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 We have a few places here that offer that choice and it's really good. 1
Doom Metal Alchemist Posted February 5, 2018 Author Posted February 5, 2018 Just now, Clu said: We have a few places here that offer that choice and it's really good. So it exists... Thank you for this information. I'm going to have to see if any pizza places around here offer it.
NaBarney Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 I mean cheese and pizza meat aren't good for you, so idk how much that would be helping Here's this pizza I just bought, Marketing toward your mindset but check the ingredients. Unhealthy sounding gibberish
Mix Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 yeah, it's a thing, but between the cheese and pizza sauce you might as well not bother...pizza is not meant to be healthy, bruv... every "healthy" pizza i've ever tried was just awful...
Poof Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 “Unhealthy” foods can have a place, and be made not so unhealthily. There’s nothing bad about the sauce really. Cheese can be considered healthy if you don’t overeat. Esp if it’s from grass fed cows. It’s got calcium which is one of the harder to find minerals in food. W/whole wheat flour, now you’re getting b vitamins, folate, betaine, vitamin e, and some of pretty much every mineral you need. Olive oil = even more vitamin e. healthy pizza choice: Cheese from grass fed cows Natural sauce w/o artificial ingredients whole wheat flour olive oil instead of vegetable oil keep sodium levels minimal load up the veggy toppings and u have something pretty good for you
Top Gun Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Or just figure that you're gonna die eventually anyway, so why not eat 4 or 5 slices loaded with extra cheese and sausage?

Naraku4656 Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 if i'm going to eat pizza, i'm going to fucking eat pizza. take that whole wheat stuff out of the equation. if you like the taste then fine, but don't do it because of health reasons

Chapinator_X Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 It is, but you're eating pizza, so it'll still do the same damage with or without some fiber. In some instances, whole wheat might even put you at a disadvantage since some companies put a ton more shit in their whole wheat dough.
Doom Metal Alchemist Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 Very informative responses. Thanks guys.
SlappyKincaid Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I've bought whole wheat pizza dough and multi grain pizza dough from the grocery store before. The whole wheat one is better, but it does change the taste of the pizza and I'm not sure I like it. Plus if I'm eating pizza, the health benefits of changing out the dough are probably minimal, at least for me. Multi-grain pizza dough made a good pull-apart bread, though.
