  1. Actually, they don't. As long as your properly maintain your computer by updating the operating system and drivers, periodically monitor and repair the hard drive, and make sure your CPU is in a clean and relatively cool environment - chances are you'll never encounter a blue screen of death. So, you could say that a computer failure is actually the computer user's fault.
  2. We’re really only discussing it because Kenny is stupid enough to think he did anything meaningful to come up with crappy six fingered art.
  3. I’m not going to parse this with you. Doing something in the style of anime isn’t stealing. Doing something in the style of Family Guy or Steven Universe isn’t stealing unless you drew something else and a computer changed the style of your art to look like Family Guy, and even that is acceptable as long as you’re not trying to imitate Family Guy itself. When I say style, I mean in the sense of direct imitation. AI tools have the power now to not only imitate brush strokes or stylistic details, but to modify images in a way to emulate media. That’s a part of the process of developing AI as its own unique medium, and it’s a critical part of AI art becoming self referential. But using Family Guy’s style to create a fraudulent Family Guy episode is almost universally accepted as theft.
  4. As someone who has used Photoshop and Illustrator for over two and half decades, I'm well aware of the purpose of a computer as a tool. The integration of AI elements (to an annoying degree I might add) into these programs has been mostly seamless because the AI operates as a tool. It be more correct to call it machine learning because it simplifies and automates processes that are not expressly creative but are integral to the transformation of the work.
  5. Oh look, it worked. Imagine that.
  6. "Anime" isn't an art style, it's a loosely defined sub genre of animation. As far as quality of art, that's an unrelated discussion - there is a lot of bad art out there, but it is still art and making money off lazy or bad art is tangential to the greater question of what art is and what purpose it serves. When people criticize AI art, it's important to distinguish between the piece and the medium, which is what AI is. If one does criticize the medium, that precludes the quality of the work. Criticizing the actual piece is only possible when compared to other pieces in that medium, which is really hard because there is very little actual AI art out there.
  7. Those are so convenient. I guess when your name shows up in the AC obituaries, we'll figure it out... unless it's lung cancer. All bets are off then.
  8. Tell us more about that lawsuit. Who did you sue and why?
  9. Stained glass windows and chandeliers are artistic elements you did not create. Everything else is raw building material with no real artistic value on its own. The architect is arranging everything and is considered the artist, not the contractor who assembles everything.
  10. Be more specific.
  11. You are incorrect. There are additional sources being processed along with the photo you provided that you did not provide. I can clearly see that the AI did not simply add brush strokes, the photo was restaged using an unknown outside source.
  12. AI does not “create” art in the commonly accepted sense. Consider this: if a student sketching a bowl of fruit that someone else put in front of them, how does that student choose perspective for framing the sketch? Assuming the student can’t touch the bowl or fruit, he or she still has to choose the distance, vertical angle and azimuth to view the bowl, even if it’s to take a photo to use at a later time. i get the argument that people with disabilities can use AI as a tool to create, but that has caveats. Aside from the fact it doesn’t show any mastery of artistic technique, it can still be art only if the artist creates the visual prompts (presumably by inputting only personal photos) along with the verbal or textual cues. Even if you use an art style you did not create yourself, your work is no longer art. Disability or not, an artist has the obligation to stage his subject, define that subject by his own hand, and present that completed image without outside interference. Expensive programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator can use AI to help an artist overcome his limitations while ensuring that all source material is original, but those freebie internet AI sites do not.
  13. Because AI is not capable of processing a visual cue, as in a computer can’t actually frame or otherwise stage a visual prompt it can then convert into a processed image, it is inherently incapable of creating an image without “stealing” its prompts. You don’t need to prove where an image was stolen from: as long as the end product of the AI does not explicitly state the visual prompts in addition to your written prompts, it is factually stolen.
  14. Is that what you think happened? Who was this mysterious man?
  15. This has unintended layers, methinks.
  16. So were you the stupid hayseed in that “storyboard”?
  17. The important point is that you apparently figured out why hoarding silver is a bad idea… or you got robbed.
  18. That just makes your whole weird ass lawyer bashing collage all the more not-interesting.
  19. No silver?! Did the Westpark killer get you too?!!
  20. So, is that what the lawsuit was all about?
  21. They’re on your brothers desk, in the condo with your name on it.
  22. I’m pretty sure Best Raku and I went at it like the Hatfields and McCoys because of that argument. There’s something sad about Kenny getting so excited about the crap he creates. He’s never going to be writer or a visual artist, so this Ian all he’s got.
  23. I don’t know if this is enough of an impetus to get that criminal thrown out of office, but taking away Netanyahu’s ability to interact with European foreign services will certainly impede his ability to negotiate on behalf of Israel and that will diminish his political power at home.
  24. You know she makes him eat ass because he don’t know what good eating look like.
  25. I never realized I had the talent until now. Honestly, I have no idea why you guys are all worked up about those pork chops: I mean, at least they're cooked, unlike his girlfriend. I think she's air dried like jerkey.
