Nobody needs to see samurai jack reruns this often!
Top Gun replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Except then you disrupt every single show airing on the block and risk some viewer attrition from those who don't follow schedule changes that closely. Look, at the end of the day, if there weren't any other big pick-ups worthy of that slot, why not rerun Jack there? It's summer, when TV ratings are traditionally down regardless of what you do. Honestly I have to question the correlation vs. causation of any sort of block-leading reruns actively hurting ratings across the whole block. If people were already watching the other shows, they're going to continue watching them regardless of what airs at 11. Honestly I think it's more likely that what we're seeing now is a regression to the mean from the surge of new viewers from the super-promoted Jack premieres. You lose those excess eyeballs, and viewership drops no matter what's airing. -
There's a way to do it on SMF too, or else one of my other haunts has some sort of custom thumbnail tags set up.

Seriously, why the hell is everyone so butthurt about a simple rerun? If you don't want to watch it again, then just tune out until 11:30. Christ this fanbase is terrible. -
Well damn. Now I want to go watch the Gray Ghost episode of Batman: TAS.

Belladonna was a legitimate quadruple-trip. Really fascinating. ("Dude looks like a talking penis.") -
I watched like 5 minutes of this game and saw LeBitch whine to the refs at least 3 times. Christ the NBA is terrible.

Built my gaming rig two years ago. Everything's good, though the GTX 970 doesn't measure up to the newer generation. I'll drop a new card at some point when I start hitting performance bottlenecks. Also have the 10-year-old shit Dell that received what upgrades it could over the years and shockingly still boots.

It has nothing to do with anger. Quite frankly I spend less thought on him than the toilet paper I wipe my ass with. If anything makes me angry, it's that after more than a decade's association with this community, the people tasked with curating it have shown absolutely no understanding of what moderating a forum actually entails. It was true back on the ASMB, and unfortunately it seems little has changed here. Just about all the major problems that place had stemmed from that bizarre irrational refusal to remove users who were acting detrimentally to the entire community. They were left there to fester, to draw other people into their nonsense, and to frequently turn entire folders into really shitty places to be. Like, that's the joy of being on a forum...you don't have to put up with any of that shit. If someone acts like a racist asshole, you kick them the hell out and be done with them. You don't give them a goddamn free run of the place. And even if you do eventually kick them out, you sure as hell don't allow them to create alt after alt after alt, making the whole concept of being banned utterly meaningless. I mean seriously...who the fuck in their right mind thinks allowing someone like Zeni back into a community after a decade's worth of nonsense is a legitimately good idea? What, were the last three thousand shitposts of his not sufficient evidence? Do we need to see a thousand more in order to understand his MO?
-
...so in other words you're okay if a prospective new member shows up and sees multiple people making racist, homophobic, and pedophilic statements. Because our community is A-OK with that. Wonderful. Seriously how did no one associated with the ASMB ever learn how to goddamn moderate a forum?
-
Small or not, he is still allowed to continue to post in that manner, which implies that the forum condones the expression of those viewpoints. That's a really shitty look. I've long since given up on Luuv, but maybe the rest of the staff can see how you don't tolerate bullshit like that?
-
Tamers was the one written by Chiaki J. Konaka, right? Because yeah, you're gonna get that.
-
There's still at least one person running around making blatantly racist and homophobic posts seemingly without consequence. So like, unless that's the sort of look you want for your forum...yeah.

Don't think I ever ran into you, but welcomes and such.

Yes, and she drew a rectangle that was not a square. Meaning that I'm the coolest kid in school. Say no to drugs! (The saddest part is that this is still more entertaining than the OP.) -

American Live action Cowboy bebop TV series remake in development
Top Gun replied to mochi's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I'll believe it when it actually happens. Which, given the production of like 95% of these proposed adaptations, will be never. -
Nice write-up, and I'll buy a lot of what it's selling. The one bit that doesn't completely jive with how I view the series is the bit about Paradigm existing to keep incrementally improving the "tomato crop" of people until they become an exact match of the people from before Paradigm became...whatever it is now. Not that I think it's wrong or anything, but I just can't recall a whole lot of narrative support for it. I've felt for a long time that episode 14, "Roger the Wanderer," contained some of the most important material for piecing everything together. There's a great line Roger has in there: "It feels like I'm behind the times, or maybe it's the other way around." I think that's us getting a glimpse of the "real" Paradigm, before the catastrophe and domes and artificial holographic stage. Maybe that's just me though. Man, back in the ancient buried days of forums past I wrote what to be like a 5000-word essay on the show, in which I probably said nothing useful whatsoever. I wonder if that still exists anywhere...
