I'm not even what you could call angry about the preemption, but I am amazed at how utterly goddamn incompetent [as]'s programming department continues to remain. "Let's take the one thing on the block that's winning insane hype, universal acclaim, huge ratings, and a wave of interest from well beyond our usual audience, and screw with its scheduling in particular!" And this is nothing against Rick and Morty--I haven't watched it but I know it's good and I'm glad for its fans--but just an observation on the sheer tone-deafness this little thing represents. Like, I guess they hate money or something?

As alien as the concept is to you, some people are looking for more out of a relationship than getting their rocks off. But do have fun with your convicted felon booty calls. Hell, it beats watching Springer for the rest of us.

The movie actually looks really visually spectacular from all appearances and has some great practical effects. But I'll go out on a limb and assume that they utterly butchered the script.

If your entire sense of relationship fulfillment is centered on whether or not someone wants to stick their mouth on your schlong, you need some goddamn help.

I've had it sitting around for years, but I'm actually finally playing through it for the first time now; I recently bought a refurbished Wii U, so I've been going through a big kick of grabbing/playing Wii titles I missed. It took me a while to get the hang of the MotionPlus controls (slow steady moves are a must), and the early game felt a bit bogged-down, but it's growing on me. I was a bit miffed that I had to look up a solution for the first real puzzle in the very first dungeon, but the game definitely did a poor job of telegraphing the mechanic required for it. (Wasn't until way later that I realized that the Sheikah Stones are pretty much an in-game walkthrough, but it would have been a royal pain in the ass to go all the way back to it at that point.) I don't mind the isolated surface areas so much, though I do sort of miss the existence of any additional villages besides Skyloft. I'm one of the people who super-enjoyed sailing around Wind Waker's oceans, so seeing a far more barren "overworld" was a bummer. And dear lord, now I can see why everyone utterly loathed Fi circa 2011--shut the hell up already! That being said, the overall story presentation has been enjoyable, some elements of the dungeon design (like the time-shifting stones) are really creative, and when the motion controls are pulled off right (like with the beetle) they're a lot of fun. Plus the few full-orchestral tracks in the game sound fantastic. I've already played for several hours when I should have been doing more productive stuff, so that's always a good sign. (Also I just read about the Ballad of the Goddess being Zelda's Lullaby played backwards, and it's blowing my goddamn mind.)

I really don't give a damn if he's creating some sort of batshit stupid persona or is really that much of a creeptastic fuck, but either way the content doesn't need to be tolerated. One of the greatest failings of the ASMB for as long as I was a member was the unwillingness and/or inability to police users beyond a basic and ill-defined TOS ruleset, which is how we wound up with nonsense like endless shitposting in fan threads or spamming entire (non-IB) folders with drivel or just being an irredeemable racist douche. The last gasps of the NodeBB era were pretty much all of that writ large. Given who owns this place I'm resigned to there not being any sweeping change in overall philosophy, but at the very least there should be far more leeway in getting certain individuals to shut the fuck up for a while.

$20 every couple of months is not exactly a high barrier as far as disposable income goes. At least in FUNi's case, home media prices are so low nowadays that complaining about them seems rather disingenuous.

Honestly, watching anime legit has never been easier. I can't even keep track of how many streaming options are out there now, and old farts like me who still buy physical media have never had it better...well, if you ignore Aniplex's bullshit anyway.

Honestly, even the canon parts of the first anime didn't grab me in any particular way. It was decent shounen, but that's about it. Always seemed like a bit of a waste of Tensai Okamura's talents.

The thought of Epcar as old man Joseph gives me a massive stiffy.

Beck was a great show with a kickass soundtrack, far superior to certain other "let's make a band!" moeblob-infested shows that came later.. The dub was amazing too.
