I'm on board with most of what Genndy does and loved the vast majority of both Samurai Jack's final season and Primal, but he lost me with the endings of both of them. The former was "Gurren Lagann did this way better," and the latter was, um, yeah. It'll be interesting to see where he goes with this after that.

I'd never heard anything about the Archer reveal actually. Now Saber's true identity I've known for like 15 years, so it was funny seeing the series bend itself over backwards to avoid stating it outright.

From what I understand the Deen adaptation also throws in some content from the UBW and Heaven's Feel arcs, so if you're not interested in playing the VN any part you start with is going to at least partially spoil the other parts. (I've also heard that, while decent, it doesn't quite live up to ufotable's work on the franchise. Deen's single-movie adaptation of UBW is supposed to be a complete trainwreck though.) I have seen some suggestions to watch Zero before UBW, and after getting through the first episode of the former that feels like terrible advice. UBW eases you into the story with individual episodes focused on Rin and Shirou, so things get explained to you as they are to them, but Zero's first episode throws a whole bunch of names out there that would mean nothing unless you'd experienced some form of the story before that.

Unlimited Blade Works is good shit, though with the caveat that as a visual novel adaptation it's part of a larger interconnected story that also has at least a dozen other random spinoffs. I never got into Fate stuff before this because it seemed completely inscrutable as an outsider, but I think UBW wound up being as good a place as any to start. There's a prequel called Fate/Zero that ufotable animated before doing UBW and provides some important backstory for it, but the catch is that the novel Zero is based on came out after the original visual novel, so it's a toss-up as to what's actually "supposed" to come first. Based on the nerd arguments I've seen there are valid arguments either way.

Plus I think the point Poke was making was that...the season's over. It's a rerun now. Of course it'll get bumped to the end.

Luffy isn't going to kill anybody ever. It's not in his nature, not should it be. He beat down Doflamingo, the Navy has him in custody, and he's out of the picture in Dressrosa. That's all that matters. Even if the government wants to execute him, they literally just took him prisoner, and they weren't going to shoot him on the spot. But they almost certainly won't. For one, he no doubt has massive dirt on all sorts of powerful individuals, and maybe he'll feel chatty about them at some point. Much more importantly...he's a World Noble. A disgraced, exiled World Noble, but still. (And a former Warlord to boot.) That's not the type of blood the government is going to willingly spill. At least not publicly, anyway. And why shouldn't Doffy get one more word in? He's a great villain with swag for days.

Luffy hasn't killed a single villain he's beaten for the entire series. What makes you think he's going to start now?
