Depends on the bug. Sometimes I just catch them & toss them out a window or door. And I've let thousand-leggers and some spiders be. But for the most part, stink bugs & earwigs get no mercy. There was a blood bath in my first apt. (roach infested house, back when pyrethrin aka "Roach Ender" was still otc)

'Cause Cats iz Jerks too! Japanese research has proof! https://wgntv.com/2019/08/08/cats-understand-their-names-and-are-probably-just-choosing-to-ignore-you-a-study-suggests/ Actual research - https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-019-40616-4 do' wanna click - Cats recognize and can discern their names from other similar sounding words, they just don't feel like acknowledging someone of lower status.

I could be getting a job archiving video footage at NASA.

When you get the job (positive enough for ya?), you'll have to let us know if you stumble across any of the "lost" footage. -
The article says the oldest known cat lived to 38 yrs old. I have friends that didn't make it out of their teens. https://wbbm780.radio.com/articles/meet-tiger-31-oldest-living-cat-illinois

Hey, so i can't keep my left eye open in sunlight, is that weird?

Looks like you have the wide pupil thing. You could be damaging your retinas if you go out without sunglasses. -

Yeah, but you could be doing damage even though it doesn't feel like it. -

Have you got what my Eye Doctor called "the double whammy", light blue eyes with large pupils? She advised me not go out without sunglasses with UV protection during daylight hours - even on cloudy days. -
Yeah, I posted about that on the [asmb]. "Microabrasion". I think they use a type of salt from the taste of it - my dentist used it to clean out a cavity for filling. Much nicer than that freakin drill. So you only got a regular cleaning, not the "deep root" kind?

...and I worked on Chicago's South Side for a few years. Sounds tempting. https://www.atlasobscura.com/foods/gym-jim-shoe-sandwich-chicago-southside "A Gym Shoe starts with a hoagie, Italian roll, sub, or any bread of the sandwich shop’s choosing. That might sound like standard fare, but that’s kind of the point. Standard fare makes up the entire meal; it just happens to harmonize ingredients that most people never think to combine. To do the sandwich justice, the guy behind the deli counter has to create a cultural mashup. He shaves off Greek gyro meat, often lamb, from a rotisserie-style spit. Then he grabs handfuls of roast beef, a meat so English that the French have called Brits les rosbifs since the 18th century, and corned beef, a product of Irish and Jewish immigrant neighborhoods. The sandwich master piles all three meats onto the bread, sometimes crisping the beef in a hot skillet first. Next come layers of chopped iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato, tzatziki (a Greek yogurt sauce locally called GUY-ro sauce), and, occasionally, mayonnaise and mustard. But it doesn’t end there: Swiss cheese, onions, sweet peppers, and giardiniera (a hot, pickled Italian relish) are all fair game. Customers receive their gargantuan hodgepodge wrapped in aluminum foil and accompanied by a “can pop” (soda) and fries. Those who love sweet barbecue dip ask for “mild sauce” on the side."

We could always escalate by flinging a city destroying pile of shit back! -

First strike from a 3rd world country, maybe? -
My understanding is, despite the silly looking uniforms, they're on a par with the SAS, Mossad, Seals, etc.

Or it could be that we have an atmosphere acting as a shield, unlike most our celestial neighbors. -

Whistling past the graveyard. They were tracking a different asteroid & missed this one that grazed the atmosphere. (based on another article in today's paper) -
