  1. Really don't see the equivalency, but ok.
  2. Don't misunderstand. This isn't about remembering by the Millenials/Gen Z'ers. This is about what is/was being taught in schools, and quite possibly who is doing the teaching/determining what is taught. As far as 1812, I know it wasn't really taught - but I've picked up that the Brits burned the White House and attacked New Orleans, but Andrew Jackson & Jean Lafitte fought against them.
  3. ...are condemned to repeat it. - George Santayana http://www.claimscon.org/millennial-study/
  4. Looks like a nub
  5. You wish to know of the "before times"? In the days before, they had sticks they called "pencils" and "pens", and instead of screens they had address books and calendars. They used the sticks to record in the address books, using a code called "writing" and would record names, addresses, birthdays, anniversaries and the like in the address book. Each year, they would get a new calendar and transfer the names and birthdays onto them. It was all so tediously manual.
  6. Had the same thing with one of my cats at my (converted warehouse) condo in Chicago. I'm looking all over for the friggin' thing and finally figured I'd look for a 10th time under the bed. Not there, so I give up & flop down on my bed to try to figure out where she could be. The place had 12 ft high ceilings and suspended ductwork. On my back on my bed I look up to see two eyes staring down at me from the ductwork, with this "whatcha doin?" look. I figure she jumped from the counter to the top of the fridge to the top of the room divider to the top of the ductwork.
  7. Do we have to talk about Whoopi Goldberg?

    THAT'S IT

  10. We walked in, ordered and sat down, talking only to each other. It was a couple hours before they closed, so it wasn't like walked in with minutes left in their day & demanded they fire up the grill. The friend I was with worked as a waiter & a bartender, so he wouldn't act like a douche to anyone in a restaurant. We weren't wearing clothes with controversial statements or anything that could be misconstrued as such.
  11. Nope. We were just walking around and decided to drop in a place about 3 blocks from our apt. The guys behind the counter kept glaring at us. It was a very weird vibe. Maybe there was something else going on...like the "camera store" near another apt, that had about 25 rolls of 35mm and a couple cameras. That place always had lots of sealed merchandise boxes going in the back of the place, but the front of the store was really spartan.
  12. Last few days, yes.
  13. Doesn't even make my top 100. Maybe not even the top 200.
  14. Why did LA Rams change their helmet/logo to something that looks like it was rejected by the XFL?
  15. I've been poor too (only processed cheese sandwiches), but I can't see myself being THAT poor.
  16. The guy plays decently when he isn't allowed to think, just react. Either that or when the pressure is extreme. At least it seems like he only gets his act together with a few minutes left in the game. Can Football have a "Closer" QB?
  17. That was tongue-in-cheek.
  18. Izzat where he keeps them? Tom (using Butthead's voice): Hey bebe, wanna see my Rings?
  19. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! It was all part of Nagy's devious plan - give Stafford the idea he was going to beat the Bears, then Trubisky snatches it away.
  20. Cubs Mills pitches a no-hitter in his first ever complete game in the Majors! That's a lot to live up to...
