Well naturally.

When my mother in law breaks something which is constantly, she comes to my house to get me. Since I primarily work in my home office that means I do nothing all day and am available. She literally sits across from my desk and stares at me until I go do the thing.

You are right. I can tell a difference between them. The elixer has a warmer tone to me. The slinkys are good for that higher pitch metal kind of music. I've personally had better luck with the elixers because they seem a little stronger. I bust string often. It's my curse. This is what happens when you learn bass first.
