Chapinator_X replied to André Toulon's topic in Free-For-All
Osomatsu-San - Six slacker brothers sabotage eachother as they avoid responsibilities with their neighbors. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - Suicidal teacher gives his class valuable life lessons. Arakawa Under the Bridge - A businessman starts his new life under a bridge to repay his debt to a strange blonde girl alongside her squatter friends. Daily Lives of High School Boys - Groups of friends embarrass themselves and each other. Sabagebu - Girls shoot each other with air soft guns. Has Momoka, one of the funniest sociopaths in anime. -

Finally got Raikou in FGO! -
There's a Korean market in my area that either has them in stock or runs out, but they also have these kind of chips at Trader Joes if that's around you. The TJ's version is also addictive.

Myspace is outdated for a pickup line. It's all about Facebook puns today. -

Lumiere busting down doors wasn't exciting enough?

So far, the progress made on Kingdom Hearts 3 has been the most exciting, but it's definitely been drip-fed to us after several E3's so at this point I'm just waiting for them to come out. Resident Evil 2's remake is also very impressive, and it's sick how they actually showed gameplay with how freaky the zombies looked with current gen graphics instead of just teased it like SOME upcoming remakes. I didn't expect to be as pumped up for Smash Bros. but hearing about Ridley & Daisy as well as the return of Snake, Ice Climbers, and some of the missing folks from other installments is very cool news. As far as new IP's go, Ghost of Tsushima looks really promising as does Cyberpunk 2077. Death Stranding's gameplay and strange story look like they'll be awesome to play once Kojima decides to give us more information on it. It's a licensed game, but the new Spider-Man also looks like a lot of fun, and is looking closer to recapturing the magic I got from the Spiderman 2 movie game. I'm one of the few people who hasn't played the first TLOU, but the trailer here for the sequel was very well done with Ellie darting around killing folks. Reminds me of the impact from the first trailer where Joel shotguns the one dude he has a full-on brawl with. There's also some nice imports like Yakuza Kiwami 2, Catherine Full Body, and P5 Dancing, but they've already had their own reveals a while ago so for the most part, it's just good to know they're coming here soon. Looks like Full Body has a nice expansion to it with Rin, but I'm looking forward to going the Katherine route again. The edgy look on Dead or Alive 6 looks like it'll bring something neat to the table as well. There might be a couple more reveals as the event winds down, but those stood out the most in my eyes. Which ones are you pumped up for?

Toyotaro under scrutiny (some spoilers contained within)

If this was almost any other mangaka, I'd agree with you. Toriyama, however, probably hasn't had to concern himself with murderous workloads or painful deadlines since 1995 when the Dragon Ball manga wrapped up for good. At this point, he has the luxury of just doing passion projects, one-offs, and whatever concept art or character designs he's getting paid to work on. When you made Dragon Ball, you're pretty much set for life. -
Looks like they're rushing all of the action to make up for how much they slacked with telling us about the world around us. The only problem is that now that they're playing all of their cards at once, it all just feels confusing to see them drop their revelations about APE, VIRM, and what the Franxx are really made of all at the same time. It feels like such a hollow and trite way to wrap up the plot and feels like they half-heartedly just want to get it over with so they can have their big scene where Zero Two saves Hiro to the opening theme song that they were banking on being their "Eyes on Me". At the end of the day, Darling in the Franxx had absolutely no meaning or reason to exist other than to write a TV show around the fucking song.

I have something controversial to say about the twin towers...

I must've watched that film thousands of times between the time it came out and Return of the King. Ranking them, I'd probably agree but only on the sentiment that Fellowship and RotK had more impact on the plot. Never sat down to watch the Hobbit movies though. -
The anime cast resigned en-masse after news came out of Twitter posts from MINE, the author of "[New Life+] Young Again in Another World" from the past 6 years: "In addition to expressing controversial opinions, the tweets refer to China as "bug country," using kanji characters that may have the same pronunciation as the word "China" in Japanese. Additionally, @SonmiChina posted images of MINE's tweets from 2012-2014 that appear to contain anti-Korean sentiments and similar derogatory euphemisms for the country of South Korea." https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2018-06-01/new-life-young-again-in-another-world-anime-protagonist-novel-creator-cause-controversy/.132291 https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-06-05/new-life-young-again-in-another-world-anime-cast-resigns-after-creator-apology-for-controversial-comments/.132504 And that's not taking into account the novel's main storyline: "the original light novels center on a Japanese protagonist who killed more than 3,000 people with a Japanese sword in the Second Sino-Japanese War, a conflict between China and Japan that ran from 1937-1945 and became part of World War II. After living to the age of 94, and killing another 2,000 people through the course of his life, the character gets reborn as an 18-year-old man in another world." But the funny thing is that the original director for [New Life+] is Keitaro Motonaga. Yamakan just has the notoriety of being a dingleberry, so of course he'd chime in because he has brought nothing of value to anime since the first season of Haruhi Suzumiya. The only difference now is that his trademark long hair is starting to fade away with time.
