Hm, interesting.... Well, I'm still sure I'm correct in that the ASMB in particular got it from Futurama, even if Futurama got it from somewhere else.

That has been an ASMB meme for years, but I never knew of its origins until this morning. I was watching an episode of Futurama from its original Fox run and Bender said "Lies! Lies and slander!" I've seen the episode thousands of times but apparently I missed the first 5 or so minutes my entire life, because when it first came on I assumed it was an ep made for Comedy Central.

My dad worked for Pacific Bell for many years, then of course they were acquired by SBC then AT&T, so he worked for them too. My dad loved working for Pac Bell, but hated the company as SBC and AT&T.
