  1. Dang, dude. Hope you and yours are still feeling well. I have zero contact with any one from work currently, including any word about the one who called in sick right before the crap really hit the fan. I could flip off one of the Co's [ he lives across the street from me ] and see if there's any new news I suppose but otherwise, no words from any one.
  2. When I can get out to my favorite used bookstore again, it's going to be epic.
  3. There's been a 'House' marathon almost every weekday so far... <.< >.>
  4. Zen Flesh, Zen Bones - Paul Reps and Nyogen Senzaki Bindi - Beth Margetts Productivity Hacks - Emily Price 56 to go...
  5. I think I've gotten pickier. I, like, look around at all the books on my shelves and think 'Naw, I don't like any of you right now. I want something new. '
  6. They are on the way. Things have just gotten a little stupid lately. I'm honestly hoping to see a sneak preview in September. It depends on how far things had gotten before everyone got locked down and how much is able to be worked on during lock down. It didn't help that Doc was down for the count last year because of surgery.
  7. The Dollar Tree version of Axe is not expensive cologne. It's a cheap and stinky stalling technique that lame people use to cover up the fact that they stink. You are him. Stinky underpants gnome.
  8. Interesting idea but unlikely. Hank's go-to has always been 'the Bat' which is a vigilante on the side of good. Even Enrico Matassa, a would-be supervillain, isn't much of a supervillain - he's like Egghead from the 60's Batman series, it's all about the puns [ in this case, Enrico is obsessed with anything 'hank' like hank-erchiefs or hanks of yarn ] and ego. His Lando self-image in the coma lands is a guy who straddles the line of good and supposed evil but in the end, is still thinking of the bigger picture. His desire to be someone else could be related to a couple of things. The first is that he wants to go out and adventure and do great notable things like Brock but he feels held back by both his family name and specifically his dad who is a well known 'failure' capable of some great things but more likely to blow it through self-sabotage. He'll always be 'Rusty's' kid with all the good and mostly bad that brings with it. He wants to go and be his own person. The other is he is a clone by at least 17x at this point. All his memories and neural firings from each 'death' were collected, stored and re-uploaded with every clone. I don't think his uploads were seamless and his ability to apparently absorb information allowed him to sort of see through those breaks and realize that they were actual breaks due to the cloning. After all, he had zero issues when he found out he was a clone - Hank just absorbed that info and kept going. Dean, the intellectual that takes after their dad, was the one that had the break in reality and went all goth-Spiderman when he found out. So he's been fighting 17 different memory trails up until now. That's like seeing 17 different universes at the same time. So he could just be attempting to find his real self away from both his family history and his clone memories. I think he's going to end up at that dojo that Gary was looking at for potential henchmen as an instructor [ since he was trained by Brock in self-defense ] and end up potentially being taken in by his new uncle Monarch.
  9. It's basically what Sketch said. Older animes, especially the popular ones which are going to be the ones you want, can have much higher price tags to air than newer animes that companies are going to want to really pimp out to the public in as many ways as possible to try to bring in that physical sales money. As an example, supposing that censoring wasn't even an issue anymore they still couldn't afford 'Ranma 1/2' even though it's been released to the public in so many forms that even I have a complete set at this point. They could probably get the full rights [ tv and web / streaming ] to at least two newer series for the cost of a couple of seasons of Ranma. And I wouldn't count all things out just yet. The budget for the year was already set up before the poo hit the fan. Slowing things down and stretching things out with a few marathons here and there is basically a safety net to ensure that things that were already planned for but might be delayed due to various people being under quarantine will still have a place in the schedule, just a little later down the road than expected. It's to keep things from being a repeat of 'Code Geass' where there was an unforeseen delay in dubbing that caught the schedule off guard. They were able to fill in those off weeks by Manning hitting up the boards and getting fan favorite episodes suggested. They don't really have that sort of immediate direct fan anything now other than via Twit which is accessible by literally anyone who signs up for it, half of which probably thought they were linking to a porn account.
  10. Because you smell like him. How many pairs of his spoiled underpants are you wearing right now? 🤢
  11. From here on out, all stupid things will be declared happening in Florida. Especially if it concerns hillbillies and methed out tigers.
  12. The Ministry of Silly Walks has really had to branch out to make ends meet lately.
  13. <.< >.> 'Classical Gas' Actually you can play something like 'Ode to Joy' fairly easily on a beginner uke. Bonus is most people know what that is so they can figure out the speed by ear and they feel really good about it because it's a classical song that's not 'Tip toe Through the Tulips' . I'm taking this time to make as many pins as I can for the Con in the fall. I'm hoping to get as many done as I have the parts for and having all the other bits prepped for when stores are open and I have a job again.
  14. Translation - the gen z from 5 years ago are now too old for the local pedo.
  15. Nope, Jurassic fern.
  16. Dude, you spent so much time in IB. When you live in a swamp, you turn into plant.
  17. Jujutsu Kaisen #2 - Gege Akutami Weird Al Seriously - Lily Hirsch Spinning Spells, Weaving Wonders - Patricia Telesco 59 to go...
  18. Meh, why not. Most recent pic as seen in DF.
  19. The bare minimum limit of 500 posts set for DF is pretty much set in stone. It's an area that you have to work to see and then wish you hadn't. Serious serious answer, the only way to jump that barrier is to be an Admin since they have to have access to all the areas of the boards at all times for important Admin things. Like pillow fights.
  20. Had to file for unemployment today with the hopes that we'll be able to reopen in May. Pissed because if I had known any of this was under consideration, I would have stopped at the grocery store one last time and bought ice cream and pops because why the hell not instead of having an overpriced pizza delivered. Phone call came about an hour after I had already nommed. -.-; Now I want mint ice creams and a 24 pack of coke.
  21. Just got my call. Store closed. No vacation pay. No PPTO pay. No emergency quarantine pay.
  22. People appreciate you here at least. Or as much as is possible from asshats on the internets. But agreed. I'm heading to work almost daily, no protections, supplies are running out [ I bought bottles of hand sanitizer at Bath & Bodyworks right before that store had to shut down and the little ones are the ones we are using in the office area with the bigger bottles at the registers for the cashiers ] , everyone has tinier paychecks because of all the cut hours and everyone is stressed out. There are still covidiots floating around touching things and window shopping because they are bored - they have face masks on but we don't have that option. And today we had someone call in sick and all we can hope for is that it's just stress and maybe a slight cold but we won't know for sure because testing is still a joke. And they'll probably be back at work within a day or two because they can't afford not to work even in this sort of situation. No one who is working right now is getting fairly compensated.
  23. Cry. Get it out. Hell, bitch on here [ or in DF if you feel more comfortable since that's not an open area ] as a means to just get it out of you so it's not as heavy. I think everyone still working due to 'essential service' could use a paid vacation and lots of naps right now. I'd settle for a taser to use on covidiots who just have to shop and be rude though. That would relieve a lot of stress and get rid of some of the stressors causing it. Big ol' sign on the door announcing 'You chose to be here, if you chose to be rude too you can't complain about the consequences' .
