  1. Either I didn't notice or I've forgotten? oO Sorry, I don't curl up with people who call me a dumb cunt and a stupid bitch. Just my policy, nothing personal.
  2. Finally got caught up. The Tweets are coming from inside the house!!! And I've never seen Once Upon a Time in America either. I guess there's no hope for me.
  3. Is there only one job I'm the only man for?!! - Subaru Ichinose (Space Battleship Tiramisu Zwei)
  4. It is cheaper. oO I wonder why? Anyway, I got the regular edition for the first season, so I'll stick with that for appearances' sake. Had I not already bought the first season, I probably would've picked up both premium sets at those prices. Not sure why the first season premium set is so much more expensive than the second. There's a poster and manga in the first, but that's not enough to justify $50 more retail price.
  5. K thanks. I guess I might hold out. If I miss it, I miss it. It's not like I'm going to get through my backlog any time this year. I see sales on that list for things I paid normal prices for that I still haven't cracked yet. ::shrug::
  6. About the only thing I want right now is season 2 of Ajin. I could pad it with Log Horizon complete (even though it's not), but still can't hit the fine print $75 for free shipping. I'm thinking rightstuf might put it up for a similar price during their Days of Christmas sales and I'll have more things there to choose to hit their $50 min. But if they don't, then I've missed a super great price, even with $8 (!) shipping. But if I do buy it from Sentai, then I might have to find something else to pad a rightstuf order. Arghhh! When does Sentai's sale end? I couldn't find it anywhere (their site is terrible, but at least they put things in alphabetical order).
  7. I'm about 5 episodes behind. Which episode is that from? Did they finish up with that guy and his day passes? Those episodes were pretty cool.
  8. There is nothing better than a good Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, fresh, creamy, at room temperature. However, finding one seems to be a total crap shoot. I'd say about 3/4 of the ones I get have clearly been exposed to heat, or have been stored too long or something. The filling is dry and cakey, the chocolate is crumbly and often visibly discolored (turning off-white), the chocolate on the bottom sticks to the cup and peels off when you remove the paper, making them all but inedible. Is this because of the loopy way they're packaged? I don't often run into this with other chocolate goodies like Snickers or Milky Way (except at the corner mom & pop store which seems to have a really slow turnover - I've found canned goods on their shelves that were 2 years expired! They're probably still there.), though occasionally you do get that skanky discolored chocolate if they were improperly stored. I'd just quit buying them, but they're just so damned good when you do hit that rare jackpot and actually get a fresh one.
  9. It's turning out better than I expected, but the MC needs to dial it down a notch, they mostly sidelined the best character (Alma), and the redhead above needs to rein in her ditzyness. But I'm hoping most of those things will get ironed out as it goes along (and not take 50+ episodes like Asta to do it). If they do, this could be a very good series.
  10. How to Raise a Mummy and Gakuen Babysitter's Club are brilliant if you need an overdose of lethal cuteness to get through these crazy times. They're equally adorable, so pick one, or both. And if it turns out that Tsurure isn't your thing, do give Kaze ga Tsuyoku (Run With the Wind) a try. It's getting more interesting and funny and dramatic each week.
  11. Forgot to mention Kaze ga Tsuyoku (Run With the Wind). It sounds like it would be boring, but the lead characters have amazing antagonist chemistry, the sound design is awesome, and the team is hilarious, especially the otaku who just looks like he's going to die every week. There's someone that everyone at any skill level can identify with. Seems to be equal parts fun and drama.
  12. Not only did I love his work as Miroku, Tylor, Tanda (Moribito), and soccer star Hideo Akagi (Conan), among many others, he was also doing some fine work in sound direction, especially in both Rakugo series. This one hits me a little harder than most.
  13. Thunderbolt Fantasy! Fabulous puppets! Great Urobuchi storytelling! Blood! Mayhem! Spectacular wardrobe! Watch it!!! Angels of Death is pretty good. Weird, but good, if you like crazy people and serial killer romance. Tsurune just started, but it's looking pretty good, with some Free!style eye candy to go with.
  14. No argument from me.
  15. What the hell are you talking about? Have you seen either of these? Caska gets raped in Berserk every time she turns around (most notably during the Eclipse), and she's not the only woman who does. Hellsing had women getting raped, including one after she was dead.
  16. So not fucking anybody is not an option?
  17. No, just pissed off I can't get McD's when the dining room is closed even though they're still open, making food, and giving it to people with cars. Hell I tried one night, and the door was open so I went in, and they still wouldn't serve me since it was only drive thru and the counter registers were closed. Not my fault they're too stupid to lock the doors. I was like, "well, ring it up at the drive thru registers then." Nope, that was too complicated for them to cope with.
  18. I think maybe the last one I can think of was rewatching Rurouni Kenshin after seeing the live action movies. It's still pretty good, though I have less tolerance for the goofiness. The actual sword fights still rule though, especially Kenshin v Saito. Of course the most recent would be Cowboy Bebop's unedited re-airing on Toonami, with Faye not busting in on a dude having sex with his invisible-but-not-silent partner, and with the video restored to its original brightness so that Annie doesn't look like she's in blackface while dying. It really holds up well, still surpassing 95% of anything put out today.
  19. Well damn, I even replied in that thread!! Just goes to show what a shitty memory I have.
  20. I didn't see it, and I can't find it now. Was it here or part of another thread? If you read the novel (I obviously have not), you'll probably find a lot of stuff left out. I'm guessing on that, since there are some parts that seem a bit rushed, and others where I'm a little confused, but I know some of that's my fault.
  21. Mo Dao Zu Shi From MAL: "As the grandmaster who founded the Demonic Sect, Wei Wuxian roamed the world in his wanton ways, hated by millions for the chaos he created. In the end, he was backstabbed by his dearest shidi and killed by powerful clans that combined to overpower him. He incarnates into the body of a lunatic who was abandoned by his clan and is later, unwillingly, taken away by a famous cultivator among the clans—Lan Wangji, his archenemy. This marks the start of a thrilling yet hilarious journey of attacking monsters, solving mysteries, and raising children. From the mutual flirtation along the way, Wei Wuxian slowly realizes that Lan Wangji, a seemingly haughty and indifferent poker-face, holds more feelings for Wei Wuxian than he is letting on." This is a Chinese joint, but it's actually really good in all respects. The backgrounds are breathtaking, and CGI aside (which doesn't bother me at all, but might turn off those finicky about such things), the battles are amazing. The above description is a decent starting point, but the lunatic angle is dispensed with after the first episode, and while it does begin with liberal amounts of humor (including a donkey I wish was a main character), it turns quite dark later on. The latest (11, hopefully not last) episode was epic, releasing the tension building from the previous 3-4 episodes with a full-throated roar, while redeeming a character I thought was mostly irredeemable. I was shocked by how far the series was willing to go to upend its plot. The MAL synopsis implies this is BL, but so far there have only been vague hints of that. I also can't recall any raising children, so I'm not sure if that came from the novel or what. That might also be a future development. It's not perfect (a couple of plot threads they spent a lot of time on seem to have been forgotten, but may still become important later), but if this is the state of the art of Chinese animation, they'll be giving the Japanese a real run for their money sooner than we think. My main beef is that they've letterboxed it, despite it already being in widescreen format. This isn't the first time, but I wish they'd cut it out. I just hope Japan licenses this for airing as they have done for titles like Spirit Pact, since I'd rather listen to Japanese than Chinese. Also then people wouldn't have to skulk around looking for it, since CR would probably have it.
  22. Don't forget the MGTOWs! Men Going Their Own Way, who somehow can't seem to just go their own fucking way already and stop obsessing about women and how much they hate them. They share a lot of misogynistic DNA with the incels and alt right. www.wehuntedthemammoth.com keeps a tab on the worst of them. Some of them are so over the edge, with logic so fractured and self-refuting that you'd swear they're Poes.
  23. Good to see you around, Gurf. Watch Hinamatsuri. I think its bizarre but heartwarming surreality would appeal to you.
  24. Other stuff. No lifeform should have to be subjected to fusing with me. My death will still probably still be tragic though, and inspire a media circus in lieu of mourning.
