Probably. I think ANN got hit in the middle of the night too. Or the middle of the night here is noon where the hackers live.
-
That's because they're all still asleep in CA. Although I imagine a few of their tech folk got woken up to, "Achtung! Aufwachen!! Du bist angegriffen!!!" Sounds pretty much like what happened to ANN a short while back, with malicious code added into the mix.

You really didn't miss much in the OVAs. So jump in. This last episode really turned things on its head. I've enjoyed the whole series, but have still been fairly meh about most of it. This is the first time I've really sat up and was glued to the screen, and am actually excited about the next episode.

Loving Bride and Osomatsu. MMO Junkie is my favorite, pure entertainment-wise. Children of the Whales is awesome (screw Netflix). Girl's Last Tour and Garo are pleasant surprises, and BBB&B is as good as the first season. The Kino reboot is a disappointment. Four episodes and she's been guns ablazin' in every one. Evil or Live is downright hilarious and pulls some genuine surprises out of its ass you just can't predict because it's so wtf. It's a blast, despite or maybe because of being a Haoliners/Tencent production. Watch the first couple of episodes and you'll see what I mean.

A baseball anime can't just be an anime about baseball...

Ace of Diamond is pretty much just about baseball. -
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2017-10-12/fans-mourn-the-death-of-grape-kun-a-true-kemono-friend/.122663 "Also, thanks to Hululu who watched over Grape-kun until the very end" The staff did actually move the cutout into the zoo's clinic. That makes me ridiculously happy, despite the tears. T.T

Grape-kun, Tobu Zoo's Humbolt penguin that fell in love with the cardboard cutout of the Kemono Friends' Humbolt, has died. He was 21 (which is old for a penguin). I hope she was by his side to comfort him during his illness before he passed away. May he swim with his waifu in Japari Park Heaven. :'(

I like how not only the entry to Mitty's room, and the outside of the house look like Mitty, but even Nanachi's helmet seems modeled after her. Nanachi really <3 Mitty.

I think of the whole Abyss as a gigantic Pitcher Plant, so yeah, seepage... I was kinda iffy about Tanaka-kun after the first ep (I liked it, but wasn't blown away), but was irrevocably dazzled after the 2nd one. Everyone deserves to have an Ohta in their life! I love the "IT CAME FROM SPONGE'S FANFIC" rank!

Updates on the sitch: Kadokawa Dwango Head 'Worried' About Kemono Friends Director's Removal Kemono Friends Site: Anime Studio Yaoyorozu Pulled Out Due to Communication Issues Apparently Nissin and JRA both claim they did have permission to do the KF collaborations, so that doesn't look too good for Kadokawa. Also, it looks like someone was not at all happy about this situation. Note the CEO and VP. And of course: Fans Take to Change.org To Bring Back Former Kemono Friends Director Yep, I think we can pretty much kiss a second season good-bye, at least one that's worth watching. I'm sure they'll grind out something to show they tried to capitalize on it. In the meantime, we have a Hollywood live action your name to look forward to... -_' /s

Post some of your favorite anime openings.

That's not the actual OP, just what someone edited to the full version of the song with added (unnecessary) subs. It's not bad, but it loses a lot of the visual cues synced to the beat, like the rocket slamming into the title. Anyway, I highly approve your choice of OPs. For comparison, this is the OP as it appeared in the episodes: -
Both my 2004 OVA box set and the 2000 movie have ADV all over them and are both branded with the Samurai X title. The box set does have Rurouni Kenshin on the back, but that's more like part of the blurb than a title. After digging around a bit, it appears that Sony had been pretty chill about the NA title for the series itself, so I think it was a conflict with Media Blasters still having the license to the Rurouni Kenshin title here. So maybe Sony told ADV, "Okay, how about Samurai X? That's been working for us on Animax," and ADV was all, "Sure, that'll sell, it's got Samurai and X in it" (never mind that Kenshin is not a samurai - that's rather the point of the series). And when AoA released the OVAs on Blu-ray in 2011, they went back to Rurouni Kenshin (I imagine both the MB and ADV licenses had expired by then).

Have you seen the Samurai X: Trust&Betrayal/Reflections OVA trilogy? Required viewing, the first two at least. Mixed reviews on the third one, but I think most don't like it. I was ok with it, though it was kinda weird, especially considering how the manga ended. There's also a skippable Samurai X movie. It's done in the same style as the series (not sure why it got the S-X branding), while the trilogy has a completely different look and tone.

apparently that weird looking Rugby Anime All-Out!!!

1) I don't recall anyone in Starmyu being gay. They go to an all-boys school for performing arts, but that doesn't = gay. They just look up to their sempais. 2) Urushibara is trans as is Mariondale (Mariondale is great, fight me). Trans =/= gay. You can be gay and trans, just like you can be hetero and trans. Neither of these characters is gay. Pre or post-op has nothing to do with it. Surgery alters your body, not your gender identity or sexual orientation. You're not gay pre-op and magically straight post-op. 3) Hisoka is not a pedophile, he's a cideophile? I don't think there's a word for it. He's turned on by anyone he feels is worth killing slowly. If he were a pedo, he wouldn't have felt it necessary to wait for Gon to get older and more lethally skilled. Right now he's turned on by Gon's potential, but he's not "ripe" yet, which is pretty much something you'd never hear a pedo say. -

Huh. I don't remember that in the sub. Are you sure it wasn't just a "Dude, I love ya, man!" kind of bro-declaration? -
The format is 2-4 sketches per episode, so you can watch as much or little as you're in the mood for. If you want to settle in for 22 min, watch two episodes. If you only have time/patience for 5 min, you can do that too. But they pack a lot into each episode, so the 12 min paradoxically seem longer, even though it flies by. Speaking of Miyuki's eyes, can't wait for you to get to episode 34.

I wish this hadn't turned out to be true, but here we are. I never had reason to have much interaction with Luuv, but I actually enjoyed reading his long posts, being a veteran wall-o-texter myself. I never understood how he took all the shit he did and endured all the headaches of being caught in the vise between [as]'s idiot management and the board users without burning out, but somehow he did. Since he invited us all into his home here, I guess he must've liked us despite it all. I hope he's enjoying the next phase of the eternal adventure. I'll miss watching him spar with you guys. I am puzzled by what Viperslayer wrote on 8/17 in the now-locked Luuv thread though. "I checked last night to see the last time I saw his IP on my server. It was 6 days ago....." which would be 8/11. His obituary says he died on 8/8. I guess he found it harder to leave than you'd expect... -_' -
You should head over to ANN and have a look at their episode reviews of Utena. They're currently doing weekly (sorta) reviews of the eps and there are a lot of good insights about what's going on and what some of the symbolism means and stuff I never picked up on watching it before. Stay away from the discussion thread though, you won't get anything much more than thinly veiled spoilers from people who've watched it a dozen times.

I just recently marathoned the whole thing again (and got so hooked I had to actually go read the manga where it left off). I just love how Miyuki's eyes look like a rottweiler's when he'd deadly serious and thinking hard, whereas Sawamura's gold looks more like a panther. If the whole show was about Miyuki I wouldn't complain. The other thing that struck me anew was how awesome the OST is, especially the Gloves on the Bench and Grow Stronger Day by Day themes. It really is effective at heightening the drama and exhilaration of many scenes. Although it's kinda weird when the music just cuts off because the scene ended and the music wasn't finished. I also applaud all the older anime I'm seeing people list! Yay! I am however detecting a serious dearth of Tsuredure Children in people's posts! If you're not watching it, you should be! It's absolutely hilarious (and short). The first episode is not a major hook, though it's no less funny than the rest. It's just that everything becomes funnier as you gradually get to know all these people. Watch eeet... Youkai Apartment is turning out to be pretty good too, sort of a poor-man's Natsume Yuujinchou. I've not been too enthused about Welcome to the Ballroom, but I'm enjoying Touken Ranbu and Saiyuki Blast for all the eye candy.

Can't say I care for the new character design. Kino reminds me of the kid from Shounen Maid.

How do you know? He just came off as really enthusiastic over Sekizan's attitude toward rugby, and yeah, he tries to jump him now and then, but in a friendly, super-happy-to-see-you kind of way, like your dog when you come home. He never gave him any shy or appraising looks, like he might if he were interested in him sexually. I'm not saying he's not, or couldn't be, just wondering what your source was for that being canon. -
I'm confused. Is the person who posted about being his contact the same as the nurse from the medical center or are those different people? Either way, I can't understand how someone that Luuv would tap as an emergency contact doesn't have any of his family contact info - you know, the kind of info you contact them for in an emergency. If the nurse is a different person, why doesn't she have it either? I dunno, Luuv seems like he's more on top of shit like that. So I'm remaining optimistically skeptical until I see something more definitive than weird FB posts from people who don't even claim to be next of kin. Btw, did someone change the banner to the lucky cat waving goodbye, or is that a bizarre coincidence?

I'd say you made the right choices so far.
