From what I've read on the series from the comments section there and also comments on some other site, this series is holy fuck levels of bad, and a major fuck up on Netflix's part. A lot of folks criticizing the choice of actors, and also just how cheaply made the clothes they have them wearing look. Netflix also inserting some good ol wokeness with this show. Someone in comments elsewhere was saying they changed Faye from being a sarcastic femme fatale, but now she feels like just some random woman, and I guess they made it where it's her first time on the streets. Also apparently they made her a lesbian, and that she got it on with a butch woman. Not my words, just the way I saw that described elsewhere. Also someone said they made Ed trans, which I'm not surprised Netflix would take a character that's supposed to be like 9 and make them trans. I guess in this series (haven't looked up the actor to verify) but I'm guessing it's a boy that identifies as a girl. Canonically Ed is a girl, even though she acts mostly non-binary from what I understand. I guess maybe they cast a male actor as Ed due to Ed's body shape, and how it's easier to have a boy keep that kind of figure longer than a young girl (whose figure would change after puberty, growing boobs). If you ask me, if it is a boy actor I'd find that more fucked up, if they're having a boy wear a small pair of skin tight shorts.

AS got FG brought back years ago. Who knows, maybe they could pull another miracle and get KotH or Futurama revived.

I haven't watched Toonami in well over two years, but I had a dream earlier today that I was back home and watching TV, and was going through the channel guide and saw that Steins;Gate was airing on Toonami, and I was thinking to myself there's no possible way they would air that kind of series on Toonami. So I went to it and was watching a bit of it before I woke up. Those kind of dreams always fool me a bit since they're more realistic and life like ones and not outlandish or fantasy like ones.

I'm most impressed with how well the cast the one man with the teddy bear head at the 1:03 mark

I think the guy that plays Jet looks alright, and seems alright. As for Faye and Spike... No. Like I don't give two shits about the original show, and never cared for it, and likely won't watch this show simply because of that, but I'm not a fan of what I see with those two here. I don't care about Spike being played by an asian, but that guy looks way too old for him. Saw some article or video talking about that, how the character is supposed to be in his 20's or so, and the actor there is nearly 50. Also when it comes to his outfit, it honestly looks like a cheap costume. I don't care about Faye's change of clothes, I just don't care for what I've seen of this version in this trailer. Things could always be better in the actual show, but with what I know of Netflix, it's doubtful.

any tips for how to get a snake out of your house?
DBAss replied to nameraka's topic in Free-For-All
Honestly if you don't want to risk touching it, you could just call up animal control and tell them you have a snake in your house, and typically they won't charge you anything since it's usually one of those govt services. -

Is it like hiding somewhere you can't reach, or are you able to get a hold of it? The way to handle snacks is to step on its head (while wearing shoes of course. Also try not to just crush its head), the idea being you hold its head down with your foot, and then you grab it by its neck, as close to its head as you can possibly get, that way when you move it it can't just turn its head and bite you. I've seen my dad handle a snake this way, and I've handled one or two this way. -
Not really sure. Had to deal with insanely slow speeds up until 2012, and even after that I was severely limited in what I could do online to to cellular data caps. That kept me doing much of anything on the internet except for playing RuneScape and using shitty online forums and RP sites. Also I didn't get my first job til near the end of 2012. I remember in 2010 I think being able to order the first season of Bleach online. There were a couple other anime shows I was able to order back around 09, though some of them either got lost in the mail or they were just scams.

There's a lot of contributing factors. Now of days it seems like fewer shows are created with cable tv in mind, and are part of a streaming service. Back in the day it was profitable for them to make a holiday themed episodes like Halloween and Christmas, but not so much anymore since cable tv viewership isn't what it once was, so there's no point in dedicating all the resources to making those. When it comes to cartoons, honestly I feel like there's much fewer cartoons made now of days than there were many years ago. I feel like one possible answer is back then when cable tv was more profitable, there were more holiday episodes because the network execs would interfere and make the show creators make those kind of episodes. Now of days I don't think those execs care, since they don't expect much revenue from those cable tv shows anyway.

Realistically speaking, I don't think Disney would go after a lot of anime series, due to them being very focused on protecting their brand. Even if they were to license anime to dub, I wouldn't put it past them to censor either the script or visual things. The majority of anime now of days having fan service, and scantily clad women, and fairly often now of days scantily clad loli's. I don't see Disney going after anime that has too much of that without doing some 4kids level censoring.

I remember when I was a kid, there was this one house across the street from us, that I guess we were friends with. There was one day we (mom&dad, maybe my sis too) were over there, and they had some hangout area down in their basement. I remember going down the stairs to the basement, but before you get to the one room, there was a door next to the stairs. I remember opening it out of curiosity to see what was in there, and it was a laundry room, but at the far end directly in front of the door there was what looked like a ghostly figure. This is a memory that has stuck with me for life. It was a man, and he looked completely white, and I recall a bright light behind him. After I opened the door, I didn't say anything and I remember him looking at me and then started walking my way. I quickly closed the door and went to where everyone else was in the basement. I never said anything to anyone about that. The likelihood of this being a ghost is debatable. It could have just been some guy, and then the light could have been coming from a basement window behind him, but despite this happening when I was around 4 it's always been a memory that has stuck with me in life. -

Govt handouts can be problematic, but giving everyone 18+ a million dollars would be economic suicide. Random numbers, but lets say there's 200 million people in the country that are 18+, real number is likely higher, don't care to google that up right now to find exact number. 200M times 1M equals 200 trillion dollars that would have to be printed, which would tank the value of the USD, to where one hundred bucks would probably be worth barely even a penny. Zimbabwe is the best example of what this causes, them having trillion dollar bills that aren't worth shit. This topic always really annoys me cause I have two guys I work with that are old enough to know better, and should be smart enough to know that's fucking stupid, but whenever the topic of the room is the government and money, so very often I would see one or both bring up how "You literally print this shit out" and uses that as the basis for why they could and should give everyone 1Mil
