  1. The only tweets of his that I've seen were ones featured on some anime news sites that despised the guy, and the attitude he was bringing into the anime industry. This being after he got that promotion or whatever you wanna call it that happened recently, where he's supposed to be more involved in anime coming over to the West (or something. I honestly don't remember). The people on those sites clearly don't seem to like him very much. I remember years ago he had a page on that one Q&A site where people could publicly ask him whatever they wanted, and like I said, that dude came across as someone that has a big ego. Also with the way he would go off on streaming platforms such as Netflix and Hulu back then, talking like that cable network of his has nothing to worry about, not considering them to be serious competition.
  2. Spotted a Demarco fanboy I guess
  3. I'm honestly surprised Toonami still exists and hasn't been cancelled yet. There are so many better options for watching anime out there, instead of waiting til like midnight or whenever on a Saturday night. Also for me, I haven't had cable or any kind of tv service in over two years now. Even when I lived with my parents, for the last year or two before I moved out I chose to not have any tv service set up in my room since it was a major waste, since I only watched stuff online. When it comes to Demarco I was never a fan of him (have a neutral opinion of him, for the most part), but the more I see his name pop up online, on things like anime news sites or anime news related videos, the more I wish the guy would just disappear. This dude definitely has an ego to him, I guess because he's a VP or whatever of some big tv network. I've seen him be so disrespectful to so many people that voiced legitimate criticism (people that weren't trying to be trolls or flaming him). In regards to taste in anime, I would definitely consider Demarco to be a boomer in regards to that, especially with how much he obsesses over shows like Cowboy Bebop and FLCL
  4. I learned to not put much faith in others. This is something that I never fell for, but is something I've heard about (from living within 10 miles of a major US city) in this one part of it that has gone to complete shit and is rated in the top 10 most dangerous cities in the country, if you're driving your car and you see someone pulled over on the side of the highway/road and it looks like they're having car troubles, you keep driving. Apparently that's a common tactic some people in that part of the city will use to get you to pull over and go to help them, just so they can hold you at gunpoint and take all your shit. I've even seen/heard stories in my county of little kids and even old ladies used to distract or fool people, so that either them or someone else can rip them off. I feel like in a third world country all those problems would exist tenfold.
  5. Yeah, just have sex with some stranger that you just met.
  6. This will give me just enough time to catch up on the 1000+ episodes of One Piece that I've missed.
  7. Like it's much better dealing with ultra liberals. There's radical people on both sides.
  8. The middle east is honestly one of the last places on the Earth that westerners should go without exercising as much caution as absolutely possible. Egypt is one of those places you still need to avoid going to the wrong places in, and for Westerners is best to stick around areas tourists frequently visit and are protected. I'd definitely be careful about who you tell things like that to, since things can easily escalate. Not saying this to be anti-liberal, but the Arab world is very anti-liberal. There's countless stories you can find on the internet of women and even couples that have gone to Arab countries, wanting to prove things such as "how kind humans are" only to be murdered.
  9. I thought Cowboy Bebop was his favorite. Am surprised we haven't gotten three more seasons of it made under Demarco
  10. I'm only 29, and have brown hair, but on the bottom side of my beard I have a lot of grey hairs mixed in with the brown. Only on my beard though, don't notice any anywhere else.
  11. The game is such a fucking joke. Konami doesn't reward you worth shit in the game, them wanting everyone to run and grab their credit cards. The daily login bonus alone is only 20 gems, it taking 100 for a single pack. The current ranked season ended, and I was at Gold II or I when it ended, and I started just now back at Silver V. Typically in my experience with competitive games, usually they give you some kind of reward at the end of a ranked season, depending on where you finished at. Master Duels on the other hands is all "Aight, now do it again". I don't have the skill or luck to go beyond Gold, so starting at Silver V, with 100 gems they reward you for ranking up from the first time, if I can make it to Gold I that's legit only a 1000 gems I can earn in a one month duration.
  12. Main issue with Korea is rocket man up North, and considering what's going on in the world, I wouldn't put it past Kimmie boy to start thinking he can do whatever he wants now, and launch an attack against the South or Japan. Honestly, considering war just broke out, I feel like it'd be better to wait a couple of months to see how things go, and if the situation improves. Japan has always been terrified of tattoos. Everyone banned tattoos there for anti-Yakuza reasons. They changed their policy on them because the world has obviously changed, but it's a case where a lot of folks there refuse to move on with the times. So it ain't illegal anymore, but good luck finding a bathhouse that'll let you in. I believe some businesses have also been known to turn away customers if there's a visible tattoo. Not applicable to women, but apparently beards are also something in Japan that the people there are weary of, and have trust issues about.
  13. Just looked it up now, and apparently 90 days is the most you can stay there with a typical tourist visa. It's still a lot of time, but the biggest problem with tourists in Japan on visa that I've seen mentioned a lot in videos on Youtube is in regards to the law. How there's a lot of subtle things that are legal elsewhere in the world, that aren't in Japan, it being easy for foreigners to break those laws without realizing. Also getting arrested in Japan is something you never want to do, cause they can easily keep you in holding for an extended period unless you give them a confession, potentially past the expiration for a visa, which can cause trouble after they're released.
  14. Also I don't know much about laws or policies on this, but I don't know if it's allowed for foreigners to just go to the country and live 4 months relatively off grid, or live outdoors like homeless people.
  15. You'll be spending a lot of money on something that could very easily backfire on you. Not saying you shouldn't do it, but it is something that you should think long and hard on, and not do on a whim.
  16. I associate with series that gained major mainstream attention such as AoT, MHA, and I guess Demon Slayer, that made the normies start opening up to it. Hell, I remember my last year in high school which was 2012, and not one single person aside from the weebs of the school would even acknowledge or imply that they watched anime. I still remember this one group of weebs that used to hang out near the entrance to the building every morning, right around the library and they would always be going on about anime this, and Japan that. They were a bunch of white kids, but would be using random Japanese words like baka in normal chat, and I guess they were all fans of Hetalia, cause they all had country nicknames for each other. I remember seeing my fair share of people at school that would make fun of that group, and would avoid them like they were lepers. I'm pretty sure those types contributed to a lot of people there either not liking anime at all, or being secretive about that. But then because of those big shows, it caused anime to become normalized, to where a whole lot more people find it socially acceptable to watch it (that said, they'd likely only publicly talk about the super mainstream ones). Also the spread of social media I'd say also accelerated interest in that genre, to where it became something that no streaming platform wanted to miss out on, with everyone of them wanting to cash in on it. I think even Disney+ somewhat recently announced some anime they were gonna pick up (though considering it's Disney we're talking about, I doubt they'd handle any anime that well)
  17. I have a ghostrick deck irl and I really do like it a lot. I had to buy the JP cards for the link monster. I really do like the deck, but in this game it only goes so far. If my opponent uses shit like skill drain or anything similar, or makes heavy use of link monsters (which can't be flipped face down), then this deck isn't that effective. I also have a Dragonmaid deck that I do like, but it runs into the same issue, especially since everyone uses those hand trap religiously, and spends 15 minutes setting up their side to nope the fuck out of everything you even attempt to do (I have had games that have easily lasted over 10 minutes, where at the end, my opponent legit only has like 10 cards left in their deck)
  18. Coming from playing YGOPro, the biggest thing for me is Dragun of Red-Eyes is banned. I hate that card tremendously, and it was overplayed in YGOPro. This game is better than that one, but it still runs into the same issues associated with modern YGO, where your opponents turns online can easily last 5 minutes, them cycling through 15 different monsters. I find it hilarious where with my first turn (depending on which deck I'm using) only summon out a few monsters at the most, then through down 1 or more face downs, trying to keep my turn at a reasonable length, then its my opponents turn where it drags on forever. My absolute favorite is when it's my opponents turn, and they spend 5 minutes setting up their field. Then when it's my turn, it'll be "okay, I activate a spell card-" "no, you don't". I'll then go to use another card effect, but they'll have another card to negate that effect. I'll then try summoning out a monster, and they'll immediately have an effect ready to either destroy it or block its effect, preventing me from possibly special summoning something else out. So I'm forced to end my turn with 1 or 2 cards at most, while they have 5 different monsters with 3000+ attack. I seriously hate modern YGO and think it's cancer.
  19. One of the problems with trying to find aliens is the fact that the universe has existed for nearly 14 billion years, while humans have only existed over 100K years at the most, and our ability to search for aliens is barely even 100 years old. With how insanely massive space is, and how old it is, it's likely the case that the window of time that our race exists doesn't line up with the same window of time as other races. Also in terms of radio signals we've sent into space, the furthest they could go would be over a hundred light years by this point, and at that point their integrity would have greatly diminished and would be indecipherable. Even if there were aliens within a hundred light years of us, even if they were around the same technological level as us right now, even if they detected our radio signals it could take them potentially a hundred years for a signal from them to reach us. And then there's the whole dark forest scenario, where there could be plenty of aliens out there, but alien races risk getting wiped out by other aliens if they announce their presence.
  20. Believing in nothing sounds dull
  21. Toonami is temporary. Quality ass is forever.
  22. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if in the next couple of years Toonami gets cancelled again. That line up is God awful.
  23. My guess as to why Netflix is making this season is since MHA is so big, and Funi owns that, they want their own superhero anime. There is One Punch Man, but over here that's owned by Viz.
  24. Realistically speaking, I see nothing wrong with turning to other methods to view this series, especially considering the likelihood of it getting a sequel is close to zero regardless of where its viewed. The fact that it's getting brought back after being wrapped up for like a decade is surprising enough.
