My cory catfish laid eggs on the glass side of the tank

with any tank fish i've seen spawn (and most of the pond fish as well), the female deposits her eggs on whatever substrate, and the male releases sperm in the water around the eggs to fertilize them. unfortunately, no smashing takes place. -

wandering jew is purple. i have a plant that's probably 20+ years old and has put so many babies out into other pots over the years. it's the cockroach of potted plants, i swear. nabs' plant doesn't look anything like a wandering jew to me. but the water doesn't look dirty. it looks brackish or maybe has tannins leached from a new piece of aquarium wood, but pretty clear for what it is. good luck with the cory fry nabs! -
hey fedex. fuck your stupid face. i ordered a new phone last week and i specifically requested no signature requirement because there's no one home during the day. they tried to deliver it saturday and -- guess what -- no one was home. however, they wouldn't deliver it because it had -- guess what -- signature requirement! i stayed home from work yesterday because i was sick. i figured, if nothing else, i'd at least get a new phone to play with while suffering from whatever i was coming down with (turns out it's probably just a cold). well fedex decided not to deliver to my town yesterday because the roads were too slick after a little snow on sunday. fuckers. so they're gonna try to deliver again today. i called fedex to see if we could change the delivery address to my work, and they said they couldn't do it because it was locked with signature requirement by the shipper. even though i specifically asked for that NOT to happen. they said i could call the shipper and make the changes though, so off to google support i went. after a long and frustrating conversation with two different agents, it was determined they couldn't alter the shipping instructions because the item had already shipped. all they could do was to ask the item be held at the local office for me to pick up. an hour away. so back to fedex i went, looking for a local office number to see if we could have the driver let me know when he's close to my house, so i could sneak out of work and meet him there. well fedex doesn't allow drivers to contact recipients about delivery times. my window for delivery is 10am-4pm, and i work from 8am-4pm. if i miss delivery today, they'll try again tomorrow and probably fail again. then they'll hold the phone at the local office for a week before sending it back to google. at this point, i'm about ready to tell them to eat shit and i'll go find a phone somewhere else that SHIPS WITH UPS!

i really hope this burny / itchy throat thing doesn't turn into something i need medicine for. all out of h2o2 for gargling, and i really don't want to go out in this blizzard to get some. i swear, i've suffered from more respiratory issues since quitting smoking than i ever did before. that's just not fair, man.

this bot is broken.

the way i see it, since it's already dead, you may as well use the leftover parts for something. my favorite use is turning deer pelts into blankets.

pixel 3 xl, it went on sale thru project fi this morning. i was gonna buy it yesterday, but i hopped on chat support to ask what day the sales were hitting. i got lucky enough that the support rep (AI probably) said waiting "a day or so" would be wise.
-
shit, enjoy it all you want. fuck prison boi til you wear a hole in that fancy thing. idc. i spent $500 this morning on a phone that was $900 before this morning, and i'm happy as shit that i decided to wait an extra month to upgrade. but i didn't save $400. i spent $400 less.
-
"saving like $500" "buying a new bed" that's not how shit works. if you'd have put the money into an investment of some sort, instead of splurging on a new piece of furniture, now that would be saving money. what you did is spend $500 less than you would have if you bought it at regular price, but i'm thinking you probably wouldn't have bought it if it were at regular price, so you would have actually saved money if it never went on sale in the first place.

fair points all around. we hunted for the food because it was a subsistence thing. it's a hell of a lot cheaper to buy a box of shells and spend some downtime processing critters, than it is to go to the meat locker or grocery store. we also butchered livestock, drank unpasteurized cow's milk straight out of the milk tank, and kept a garden that was usually on the 2+ acre size (not including sweet corn and potatoes, because those were grown in rows out in the strip crops). but if we snagged a trophy buck or tom, sure we'd put it on the wall in the cabin. nothing wrong with taking a little pride in your work.

*strokes chin whiskers, shades on, 1000 yard stare* it's been a long time since i've done any hunting. a long time... we hunted everything on the farm as kids. squirrel, turkey, rabbit, deer, raccoon, coyote, various birds, pretty much anything that was wild and on our property. i moved away after high school, and haven't had anywhere to hunt since then. i'll still go out if i'm back home during a season, but that has't happened for several years. we owned a small arsenal of firearms, but i was partial to my old remington .22 and my ithaca 12 gauge semi-automatic "deerslayer". oh, and the winchester .44 revolver. that thing was a cannon.

i was pretty annoyed by the whole thing. unnecessary depth was added. he's the grinch. you don't want to empahtize with his asshole side. also, obligatory love interest? come on. the kids liked it enough i guess, but i'll take my 1966 version, kthx.

25 years @ a pack a day (just a guess, sometimes it was more and sometimes far less). 20*365*25= 182,500 but that's ok. the number i've smoked since june 3 2018= 0

verdict is in. 2018 bcbs is not the best vintage i've had, but it's pretty damn good. bottle poured a little bit flat with minimal head, but it didn't affect the flavor. first taste was chocolate and musty wood, moving to sweet malt and finally a boozy bite on the back end. maybe 2nd best i've had in the past 5 years, behind 2015. one of these days i'll be having friends over for a vertical tasting of 13-18, and we'll find out which is the best at that point. and now i'm drinking another chicago beer. two bros atom smasher oktoberfest was a great beer and we sold a boatload of it at the bar, but we ended up with about 8 bottles that i haven't been able to unload. so they came home with me tonight and i'll be disposing of them in the best way imaginable. added benefit, i opened up a lane in the beer cooler for southern tier 2xmas ale. this job sucks so much ass -

just received delivery of the goose 2018 BCBS this morning. we're taking part in their black friday release, so we aren't selling it just yet. but the keg is in the cooler, and there's a case of bottles waiting in there too. i most definitely didn't crack the case open three days early to take a bottle home and "sample" it tonight... tale of the tape: 2018 bourbon county brand stout imperial stout aged in heaven hill bourbon barrels 14.7% ABV 60 IBU 441 calories per 16.9oz bottle -

golly, i sure hope not. the band was a one-off thing between a group of old friends, and they did mostly 90s alternative covers. the last few songs were stp / rhcp / velvet revolver / kid rock / nirvana. but look at that crowd, lots of ladies in there, and most of the dudes were only dancing because the ladies were in there. shit got a little dicey when they were in the guts of "teen spirit" but i didn't see anyone getting tossed around. then again, i was mostly looking down at the console so...
-
so that actually went pretty well. i didn't get any video because i was too busy with the light show, but a few people posted pics on the social media. the first one is the console setup, and the rest were taken live during songs. for the record, i never lost the gift, even though it was my first time on that console, using those light fixtures, and mixing to those songs. i have never received more positive feedback for running a light show, possibly ever before. i know wifey got some snaps while she was out in the crowd. if i can figure out how to get them onto a post, i'll do that too. it doesn't seem like anyone had their phones out for the last couple songs, which are usually the most visually entertaining for me (lots of dramatic movement, palette changes, and of course...the strobes come out). if anyone has video of those, i'll be delighted.
-
i have one of each.
-
so tonight is the big show. i have the set list, and i've been given the name of the console and the light fixtures i'll be using. never used the console (lightshark core with two ipads for control) so that should be interesting. i'm heading down early to get in an hour or two of practice so i don't blackout the stage halfway through the opening song. that would be a little embarrassing. if i don't do an absolute shit job, i'll try to capture some video and bore you folks with it tomorrow.

...again?
