The gutting of regulations as well as the forced deterioration of inspection standards under this very administration has made it so that food in general around here is going to be toxic for most people. You may be happy with your ratdog with extra feces just the way RFK Jr likes them but the rest of us aren't. 

The last time Thunder Diaper took the stage, he trashed the soybean exports around here and that never fully recovered because China [ big big big on soybeans - Japan too - I hate natto ] found other countries that were willing to fill the void. Crops rotted in the fields here. Now it's the ranchers turn and no, there will be no recovering unless that certain someone takes a header off a highland this weekend.

Cellulose fiber is literally plant walls. If you've ever eaten a salad in your life, you've eaten a bowl of cellulose fiber.

And feeder cattle require at least 16% crude fiber if not more in order to properly digest anything. Too little and those cow pies are platter splatters and muscle/meat mass is lost.

Also, no, the vast majority of ranchers do not have the money or resources to convert wood chips into feed filler (it’s not standalone). It’s solely an option for areas experiencing extreme drought and it wouldn’t directly affect the beef flavor because its an empty calorie filler to more traditional feed (primarily alfalfa).  It does however lead to malnourishment which is a factor.

A starving cow will chew on anything including the fence posts. That doesn't mean the farmer feeds the cows fence posts. 

Most farmers can buy hay from someone who decided to grow out a field of it in an off year. And depending on the area in question, you can bale with advanced permissions on government property if the area is environmentally stable for that sort of activity. Pretty sure the dairy farm I grew up near was allowed to collect from a chunk of the swamp in late summer/early fall when the area was all dried up and the nesting ducks had moved out.

There isn’t sawdust in Kraft Parmesan cheese.  There’s no wood or wood pulp. There’s cellulose in Kraft cheese, a refined plant product, derived from wood. It’s used as an anti caking agent. 
 

the issue is Kraft saying it’s 100% cheese when it isn’t. The cellulose isn’t poison and it won’t kill you.
