Also if this goes through coffee and oil will skyrocket in price.  But the voters have made it clear they don’t mind starving as long as the brown people are gone.

Why the fuck did he have to become obsessed with tarrifs?

Yep, look can't wait to see what happens when folks see the price of their half-caf triple shot extra foam caramel macchiato with oat milk heated to precisely 140 degrees, with the caramel drizzle under the foam (very important), shoots up in price. Messin with people's caffeine fix is never a good idea.

I think he just sees it as a really showy weapon, and one of the only ones besides the pardon power that he can wield without any restriction or need for congressional approval. He's just an insecure bully looking for look for the biggest, flashiest stick he can find to wave around and threaten folks with.

Well, that lasted all of about a day.

Colombia has folded after Trumps tariff threats earlier today. Going to start to allow deportation flights to land, and they are even sending the Presidential Plane to help with these efforts.

He thinks it makes him sound extra smart and very much wow when it comes to economics. But then he ruins it for those who actually pay attention by claiming they'll make us so much money when tariffs do the exact opposite - the consumer pays more and more for the same thing. But it sounds important enough for idiots so that's what he sold them.

They said in order to help with a DIGNIFIED RETURN. But by all means, skip over how the last group spent the entire flight in a cargo plane, handcuffed without any food, water, or heat. It's the modern-day equivalent of chaining people up and tossing them into the hold of a leaky ship but let's just pretend it's totally not that because DEI Civil Rights aren't real anymore. :|

They were always going to send the plane.  Being gay and gullible makes you an especially vulnerable target.

Trump says “25% tariffs start on Mexican and Canadian goods starting Saturday. We don’t need anything they have”

lol remember when Packard said when gas prices are cut in half, I’d be amazed? lol as soon as gas and oil prices shoot up Trump is gonna go suck up to Saudi Arabia probably 😆

Trump Tarrifs are a go on Saturday and you’re about to pay triple for groceries.  Because tarrifs are the only thing that make Trump hard anymore outside of wanton cruelty.

Trump to Announce Country-Based Reciprocal Tariffs Wednesday

now i'm REALLY interested in this. that is...i'm REALLY interested to see what ag and textile will be in this.

congress approved an additional bailout for cotton growers here. in this area, it's 85$/acre of cotton, with most fields in the hundreds (you can maths), with additional support for failing market......m'kay.

i'm going to take a wild guess and i would place bets that these "farmers" - and i do use that term loosely - that are field to port only will be hit hardest. i actually hope so.  NOTHING stays in this country. nothing.

cotton, peanutes, soy.

next i would say vehicles for obvious reasons.

and finally, i think beef. again...same "farms" raise cattle that is...you guessed it: farm to port only. NOTHING stays here.

just adding my 2cents that absoulutly NO ONE but me asked for. lol

Farmers get so much government subsidies. Some might be necessary idk anything about that type of stuff.  I also got to look into tariffs countries place on our goods. Idk if these 100% and 300% or 50% tariffs are even real and if they are real, does the tariff get placed on the goods all the time or does something have to trigger the tariff?  Nothing Trump ever says is ever true or completely true. I hate that he makes me have to look shit up. It’s like the son of a bitch is giving me homework. 🫠😆🫠

the 'farmers' (those that i mention farm to port, not for american consumption) are some of the biggest welfare queens to date.

they make money when they fail

this is from 2023,

In 2023, the median income from farming for households operating commercial family farms was $167,550, with a median total household income of $253,496, while the median total household income for all farm households was $97,984, exceeding the median for all U.S. households

2. Subsidies:

Federal farm subsidy programs can significantly impact farmer income.

Examples of programs include:

PLC (Price Loss Coverage) - $33 billion in taxpayer costs projected for FY24-33.

Highly subsidized federal crop insurance - $101 billion in taxpayer costs projected for FY24-33.

ARC (Agriculture Risk Coverage) - $19 billion in taxpayer costs projected for FY24-33.

It's important to note that the vast majority of farmers do not benefit from federal farm subsidy programs, and the subsidies tend to go to the largest and most financially secure farm operations. this would be the industrial farmers - field to port

not your farmers markets and those small farms that you see fail every year.

3. Tax Breaks:

Farmers can benefit from various tax breaks, including:

State Tax Credits .

Renewable Energy Credits .

Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credits .

Earned Income Tax Credit for Farmers with Low Income .

Conservation Expense Deductions .

Depreciation .

It's crucial to track all expenditures and understand taxable income and deductions.

4. Insurance Pay Outs:

Farmers often rely on crop insurance to protect against losses due to natural disasters or other unforeseen events.

The amount of insurance payouts can vary greatly depending on the type of crop, the location, and the severity of the event.

It’s amazing how subsidies so often go to those who don’t need it.  I wouldn’t mind so much if they actually sold their stuff inside the country but to just take up resources for the benefit of so few people here isn’t acceptable. Not unless they’re shipping overseas in an act of charity but I doubt that’s happening.

one where the reconstruction of 1864 is alive and well, and one that has moved past those obstacles and focuses on their city, tourism, and it's people.

I been nagging my other half to go down to GA. We were supposed to go to FL and I wanted to detour to down your way. lol we’re gonna have to drive because neither of us has proper ID to fly anymore and he can’t even drive in FL or rent a car until he does. Our IDs say “not for federal purposes” despite showing birth certificates and SS cards to get said ID 🙄

I still think the only reason he uses tariffs is because he can use them unilaterally.  And with Schumer being the whiny bitch he was, we have to wait two years to possibly get the influence to undo them.

Interestingly, Canada and Mexico were not tarrifed…yet.

All this so he can give tax breaks to millionaires and MAYBE remove tax on tips. I actually don’t like any of it. Billionaires should pay more in taxes and tips are earnings. If they maybe want to only tax a certain amount or not tax until a certain amount, fine, but no tax at all isn’t right either.

It's a poor and middle class tax hike. I hate the word tariff. Just obfuscates what's really going on, which is simply put... class warfare. No matter what language is used though, when people see the rising prices and feel the pain economically, they're gonna know. And the idea that this is to bring manufacturing back... puhlease. That's just to give the media a chance to talk about this and analyze it as if there's some kind of actual strategy at play here, but doing them by country like this in a blanket fashion makes it pretty clear that this is just ultimately another con. It's no wonder they delayed this whole announcement till after the markets closed. Just look at where the dow futures are right no and it's like ruh roh!

Judging by the reactions from the pro-Trump crowd, this is entirely about making others suffer.  Even if they suffer too, they figure their whole lives are suffering, might as well make others feel miserable.

I noticed that suddenly MAGAts love taxes and suffering through the pain will be worth it because only woke people hate tariffs. Don’t matter that this is all a collection plate for the super rich. As long as the libs are owned nothing else matters

I found out why Cambodia is so high, and it's really stupid. It's just because Cambodia exports much more to the US than it imports.

"In 2024, Cambodia exported goods worth $9.92 billion to the US, up 11.4%, while US imports to Cambodia amounted to $264.15 million, up by 2.7%. Total bilateral trade volume between the two nations reached $10.18 billion, a rise of 11.2% over 2023."

https://m.phnompenhpost.com/national/cambodia-tops-list-of-new-trump-tariffs-49-#:~:text=In 2024%2C Cambodia exported goods,rise of 11.2% over 2023.

264.15m divided by 9.92b is about 2.7 percent. This mean the US has about a 97 percent trade deficit, which Trump is calling a tariff against the US.

The sad thing is the average American won't understand the simple math involved here. This is one of the many reasons Republicans are gleefully gutting the Department of Education.
