Top Gun
I had this realization when in a Discord conversation that MAGATs have pulled off a brilliant long con over the past decade-plus. They spouted off all sorts of threats and batshit insanity over things that were not physically happening and in fact could not happen, and they got called out for it as such. Now the positions are flipped, we're calling out the actual existential threats happening right now, and they get to sit back and say "Well you called us crazy for years, so you must be crazy too!" ...well I'd say it was brilliant, but most of the dumb bastards probably fell ass-backwards into it. I'm sure there were a few evil genius motherfuckers behind the scenes though.

It doesn’t mention rental assistance but maybe since it’s paid directly to the landlords, in the name of the renters, it will fall under direct to individuals assistance?

Now does this mean people on Medicaid food stamps rental assistance and stuff like WIC and Ryan White are safe? Idk. I know if not I have no insurance anymore. A lot of people are going to be pissed, like landlords who won’t get their rent paid. Hopefully Congress or the courts stop this because it’s illegal Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what they claim won't be taken away since destroying all the social safety nets has been a wet dream of so-called 'conservatives' since Reagan. If this EO is the one that speeds things along, they won't care - they'll just claim things 'are tied up' and 'not our fault'. 2

There was a bill to fund school meals for little kids fully - all kids. The super majority of asshats whined and cried about how it shouldn't be the government's responsibility to feed these kids when their parents should be doing that. They then, without a hint of irony, voted to give themselves an increase in their own per diem meal reimbursements because grown adults with government jobs need the government to feed them and can't brownbag it.

Dark_Cloud_Overhead
He's like a gremlin in a control room pushing all the buttons he can find right now, trying to figure out which are the ones that will make stuff go boom. I'm sure he's aware a number of these actions are gonna be short circuited by the courts, but I don't think he cares. He's just looking to push the boundaries of what people and the system will let him get away with. Even when he's stymied, it just desensitizes people and gets them used to or prepared for the idea of whatever norm he's trying to break being broken, until folks just stop caring and merely shrug when he finally destroys all the things the country used to stand for. Bunch of morons. Easy as it would be to put all this on him, gotta remember none of it would be possible without all the enablers who are too gutless to stand up to any of this nonstop torrent of insanity, which you just know if Biden or any other Democratic party president had done the same they'd all be screaming bloody damn murder about it while frantically pulling out and pointing to their little pocket Constitutions. Funny now, instead all we hear is just crickets.

In a sane world, Caroline Kennedy's statement that she put out yesterday would be a death knell for him, but he's just gaslighting congress about all his anti-vaccine statements so far. Pretty clear he's just gonna pretend none of it ever happened or he was somehow misinterpreted over and over and over again. Sadly, that's probably all he really needs to do... is just give them enough of narrative so they can hide behind it while they hold their noses and vote him through, same as Hegseth. The term is most strongly associated with the several hundred camps established by the Nazis in Germany and occupied Europe in 1933–45, among the most infamous being Dachau, Belsen, and Auschwitz.
