i'm alive. thanks for asking.

what the article doesn't talk about, is those without power didn't know about ANY resources. (outer county areas)

NO one from EMA came to this side of the county.

I had a live wire in the yard until yesterday when we got power.

the article doesn't mention the price gouging, and the article doesn't mention the lack of information, misinformation, and complete disregard for urgency.

my own commissioner rep, was snug as a bug at his. a flat bed with 2 large gene's, a house full of people watching the football game. like a beer commercial.

but yet, didn't think to open up the retired polling place/faux fire station to hand out food/water/INFORMATION. (the county voted to have 9 of these little house that would hold a truck for insurance purposes)

and finally, now that we are the pariahs of the county, it doesn't shock me that no one came by.

but yeah...alive and kicking. and realized that this place really is the suck. 🖕🏽

Oh shit. It made it to GA?

Ok, my personal bad.....I would have called you at the very least. All I hear on the radio and social media is Florida, and while I am very aware of Ga's proximity to FL, nothing media wise triggered me to even think about GA.

Hell, I guess I need to see if Drunk girl and my ex from college are alive.

But I'm more than willing to take my lumps on the suckage, but to be fair....I wasn't even aware of Katrina until it was almost too late. I don't really do news as far as TV networks go and as I said, radio is just on FL's dick with this.

Is it still going....like is it going to hit MS and LA too... because I should probably check on family too.

But shit disco, I'm sorry...after I got the add from the business page on FB, I honestly kinda thought your absence here was on purpose.

Welp, Drunk girl just got power back last night, she says there's almost no food, FEMA is taking apps but no actual relief in her area. But she ok.

My college ex .....Died of cancer last year.

Soooo....My checking on people ability is really shitting the bed and I'm just going to ponder just how detached I actually am.

I didn’t even know the storm made it to GA. Sorry I’m glad you’re alright

IDK about where you are but there has been NO media coverage about GA here. I've even checked local news outlets for stories in the last week

Almost like it hasn't been mentioned on purpose

I’m really confused as to why there was zero coverage about GA. Not a peep during the Falcons’ game.   Meanwhile people are down there searching for gas in the middle of the night 😭

No clue...even Odin didn't say shit.

At least I think he lives in GA...maybe not... obviously I'm not the go to guy for knowing shit

Where I live in GA got a shit load of rain but that’s it. I really thought the worst of it was in the Carolinas. Then again, I don’t keep up with the news like I probably should.

awww. ok. i'm not AS pissed. I'm in savannah region. about 2 miles from the savannah river, and about 45 mins from the city of savannah.

 you guys.

I was out there on my front porch, trying to capture the pulsing lights (that would be all the power lines going down"

meanwhile, across the road, and actual tornado touch down briefly. :headspinning:

I have video and will post when my phone is charged.

look ya'll i'm so pissed, I might run for commissioner for real for real. it's gonna be a solid  2 years before I can move, so...in the meanwhile?

if you have tik tok, it's on there. yeah...my priorities were completely in tact making runs to surrounding towns. :happyjerk::disassociate:

and now the neighbor is starting HER fucking shit. I just came in for cussing her the fuck out. she dropped my name...like we're friends, and I said 'oh no sir, you must be wrong', and said some things..and she came back with 'i'm a christian'  absolute WRONG thing to say to me. cliff's notes...I told her to take her bible and shove it up her fake, gimpy ass. told her to write another drunk message to the sheriff tell him to roll on up with his bullshit.

i'm low key waiting for the sheriff. ngl.

yes, and now currently, and not entirely sure how many days, a plant blew up, and the ATL is surrounded by a smog that smells of chlorine.

yes, there are bodies along rives in SC and NC because the grave erosion, and just lost souls. counties don't know what to do, so they are piling at river sides.

our friend still without power, and now she's got flooding.

MTG is scheduled to be here today. THAT's why you may not be hearing about it. she made that wtf Dems control the weather shite baseless claim...

I don't want ANYONE to be fooled. we aren't getting FEMA not just yet.

we are getting denied. we have to wait. reapply. and continue until the application is accepted. still no guarantee of $$.

so don't believe the hype that the GOP is spewing.

*edit. never in MY life did I think I would EVER be applying for FEMA. there are people out there  saying that once you apply, FEMA will take your stuff? omg. I wish it would stop.

My Dad got FEMA money from COVID. It wasn’t a loan. Just make sure it’s not a loan if you can help it.  They don’t rush though cuz the government never does.

My family in Claxton got hit super hard, trees down everywhere and my cousin is still without power. There’s little gasoline, my cousin’s husband has to scramble everyday to keep the generator running. The worst part is it was my second cousin’s 13th birthday and it’s been such a slog. I drove back from South Carolina on the Wednesday before and never even thought it would be this bad. I’m so sorry you’ve been going through it, I can empathize and can only thank God it didn’t hit me.

Louisiana makes above ground tombs because burying people along the river and causeway is pointless....the graves got exhumed every time it rains hard ..which is always

Yeah none of our assistance was loans. We got EBT cards that got loaded with like 200 for several months and other got more but I got a $3000 payout. But it was like a month or so after the fact but I was on the phone with FEMA as soon as I got to a working phone

My dad was on the phone a lot too. I think something got messed up and he had to start over but he eventually got it. Idr how much. Probably enough to put towards a funeral but definitely not enough to cover all the costs

Well people with extensive property and possession damage were able to itemize for more but I really just claimed my grandmother's house that I was renovating. I didn't try to itemize or no shit like that. I just wanted my claim to clear.

I got nothing for the shit I lost in my apartment...no renter insurance and FEMA didn't pay out to renters so it was just fine but I didn't really own shit anyway so no biggie

I brought my PlayStation and TV with me to my aunt's house when I finally evacuated a few hours before it hit....other than that, I just had clothes. Lost some of my favorite shoes but meh

i saw that there are 2 disturbances that enki.org is watching. my son's birthday was the 1st. we made it the best we could. we met the new neighbors. homeschooled kids. one is bubby's age; both make comic books, both game, both atheletes. win win win...BUT they had to head to columbia, up 301 to stay with the grans while they get finally settled an moved in. longer story.

it is absolutely horrible, but it's that way becuase of the corruption and pocket lining of funds that were meant for exactly this shit. right here.

thank you.

It’s blew up fast, as hurricanes are wont to do in this day and age.

It's kinda even more surprising when you realize the name... we just jumped from Helene to Milton? Fuck that's a lot of named storms in a short span of time. Even if they're mostly just spinning up and doing nothing in the middle of nowhere, that's still a lot of activity.

The last few years have been similar, I think.  It somewhat stands to reason that if a depression that starts in the Gulf of Mexico can balloon into a Cat 5 in the stand of a few hundred miles, a lot of other depressions that typically exist in the Atlantic starting in September will gain energy more quickly than they had in the past.
