PhilosipherStoned Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 and died.. I didn't realize the life expectancy of one is only around 8 years. This company is estimating replacing it bringing a $1100 price tag. 1 1 Quote
Insipid Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Sounds stressful. You need to destress. You know what to do. Quote
The_annoying_one Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Appliances don’t last long at all these days. I remember the fridge I grew up with lasted probably from before I was born until my mid-20s, at least. Now, you’re extremely lucky to get about 10 years out of ‘em. It’s all a scam. I’m sorry this happened, though. 1 Quote
scoobdog Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Yeah, something like 8-10 years is the life expectancy. Just replaced mine last year after that long. I didn't drain it every year like you're supposed to, though. 1 Quote

Rogue_Alphonse Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 You pay for longevity anymore. They're really not hard to swap out though. If you keep your wits and are inclined enough to understand basic plumbing and possibly electrical. an unexperienced person can have it done in a few hours. If you are second guessing yourself at all though, get a professional. 1 Quote
[classic swim] Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 (edited) Very glad I wasn’t at work when my water heater did that in the middle of the night. The one time God chose not to fuck me. Edited April 26, 2023 by [classic swim] Quote
nameraka Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 See, this is why pronouns are important. Is it "I fucked my water heater and i took a shit?" Or is it "I fucked my water heater and it took a shit?" 1 2 Quote
