Blatch Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Ahh, reruns leading off Toonami. At this point, it's been done enough times that I don't think the schedulers care if it tanks the ratings. And what does the block have to lose? Either way, this is fresh content for me, so I hope we can all get together, maybe have some lemonade and salami sandwiches, and kick back to one of the most unique animated shows to come out of the last few years. 2 1
DangerMouse Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) Uh oh, that's not a good sound! DAYUMN.... Edited May 15, 2022 by DangerMouse
AnimationFan14 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 The sound of his wife and kids trying to run away... heartbreaking 1

OwlChemist81 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Fang managed to hold these assholes off for a while, but they got the better of her kids...
OwlChemist81 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Hard not to just keep watching!! The genius of Genndy Tartakovsky productions!

Jman Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Primal is back on Toonami despite Genndy not wanting it there. I still remember the debut of the show during New York Comic Con. They had the show in the Manhattan Center, specifically the Grand Ballroom (still a legendary venue for concerts and indie pro wrestling) and it was a big deal, since it was something he described as animation in a pure form. Hardly any dialog, no real limits on what he could show, it was an attempt at visual storytelling at its most fundamental and proud. And it still works, really well.  It's proof of several things that the naysayers would doubt. It's proof that you can have an effective story without needing to have people talk every five seconds. It's proof that you can make a very effective action cartoon without having to pretend you're Japanese. And it's proof there is an audience for this sort of animation. 2 1
OwlChemist81 Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 (edited) Episode 2: River of Snakes Last week, Spear and Fang became a team. This week, they deal with their differences, but a fearsome new enemy slithers on the horizon! Midnight tonight (5/21-22/22)! ONLY TOONAMI--on Cable TV anyway. Edited May 21, 2022 by OwlChemist81 2
OwlChemist81 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 I will admit having a show that won an Emmy as a frontrunner kinda makes sense if you can't have a premiere. 1
OwlChemist81 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Whelp, this discussion is already dead in Week 2! But this show is indeed great!! 1
DangerMouse Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Fang carrying him to safety and worried if he's still alive. 1
DangerMouse Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 We've got ourselves a team! Haha, just adds the snake to the fire.
OwlChemist81 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Well, that's all, folks! It's hard to look away from this show!
OwlChemist81 Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 EPISODE 3 - A COLD DEATH! Spear and Fang had to take out the old mammoth to get some meat and that warm skin! Fang was also quite useful for her surprising warmth given that she's an ectotherm. But nothing's like a cave! 1
OwlChemist81 Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 Yeah, and they're ancestors of elephants, and elephants never forget... 1

saito34 Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 The coloring is insane in this show. The red he used for blood pops right off the screen 1 1
OwlChemist81 Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 I'd say it needs a marathon, but it already got one!

Daos Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 I haven't seen PED abuse like this since Barry Bonds! 2
DangerMouse Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Even when Fang bites into him and rips a piece off he doesn't give a fuck.
