Draft ruling shows Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade: report

He'll sign off on it in a heartbeat if he gets back in. He's just pulling this crap because literally every single election that's popped up since has gone for the person who isn't screaming that gelly-blobs are BABIES. He was told to tone down his stance on no choice at all because its not a winning stance right now. When he no longer has to worry about what the little people think, he'll pass all the laws to ensure everyone knows they are the little people.

Cruelty is the reason for all the things.

I really don’t think he has a strong opinion on abortion, if only for the simple reason it doesn’t matter to him.  Sure he’ll sign it if it’s front of him, but only if there’s something else in it for him.  He’s happy to crow about voting in justices that overturned Roe v Wade because it not only represented a favor to his rabid GOP base, it represented a favor to the conservatives on the SCOTUS.  It’s part of his transactional relationship with everybody and everything.

It’s different with immigration.  Trump is a known racist.  Eradicating non white people is an explicit goal even if it’s not expressed in those exact words, and making the distinction between this and his stance on abortion highlights the true danger he poses once he’s given the ability to use someone else’s agenda as a bargaining chip for his corrupt business ventures.

The positive is that there's a petition to get abortion protections on the AZ ballot this November, and nothing can boost turnout more than this.

I think the only state that's had abortion directly on the ballot and had it fail since Dobbs was WV, and WV isn't even a real place.

The SCOTUS has rejected a claim to restrict the abortion drug Mifepristone. I didn’t read the entire article yet but it seems they decided the doctors bringing the claim have no standing to do so.
I wonder if this decision was made to save Justice Alito because he was recorded saying some pretty damning shit. Basically admitting he makes decisions based off his beliefs

Regardless of how they reached their decision, it’s a relief to the many individuals needing those drugs.

Yeah man idk this issue can be brought back up again as soon as lawyers and doctors either find or convince someone to say they were damaged by the drug and the FDA relaxed guidelines. It was a unanimous decision and that just tells me the conservative justices might be trying to give an assist to the GOP. We already know the conservative justices dgaf about standing and I find it convenient that suddenly it matters. I’m definitely glad they did the right thing but extremely suspicious as to WHY they did so.

no Roberts said the right things, it was Alito who said the "us versus them" stuff

Just means Roberts isn't a moron.  I'm pretty sure he votes based on his beliefs as well.

These justices are starting to all seem the same to me. Which is the one that sometimes voted with the more liberal justices. Idk if he has lately. Maybe that’s Roberts or am I thinking of Kennedy?  I know he’s retired but like I said they’re getting hard to tell them apart 😆🫠

Kennedy was pretty friendly with the liberal side before he died.  Roberts has been more or less like a deer in headlights as soon as Jerkoff #1 and Jerkoff #2 get shown up with some stupid opinion or another.  The other three seem to be following Roberts and they've come out with one or two unexpected wins for common decency.

Roberts believes in incrementalism and institutionalism, he's all for conservative opinions but he's typically not willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater at the expense of the court's reputation. Which is ironic because he's totally lost any sense of control once the 6-3 was locked in. There was a very brief time post-Kennedy where Roberts was the median swing vote, and that's where he wanted to be.

Kennedy was a legit libertarian, he was mostly conservative but sided with the libs on things like abortion and gay rights

lol it’s hard keeping track. I remember thinking when Kennedy retired it wasn’t a win for the liberal justices because he sometimes sided with them. Although I guess it’s better to get a justice that will most likely always align with them instead of sometimes

Flailing Morons vs. Mifepristone take two :

SCOTUS: So you've been personally and physically injured by the use of Mifepristone?

Sentient Paid Fart: Absolutely.

SCOTUS: And you are here to attest to the fullest of your abilities that said injury proves that its continued availability to the public at large is worthy of being halted until such a time, if any, it is proven to be safe for use of which it is currently listed for?

Sentient Paid Fart: Its bad and wrong and I got hurt. Ban it for the babies!

SCOTUS: Kindly elaborate on the nature of your injuries and how you feel that taking Mifepristone was the direct cause of such.

Sentient Paid Fart: I suffered horrible constipation, migraines, cramping, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and eventually massive bloody shits. I blame the baby killer drug for all this. If I hadn't shoved the entire box up my ass and then done a power slam on the ground to make sure it got fully up there, none of this would have happened.

SCOTUS: ...Thomas, Alito, Kavanaugh, two of you ticket-selling assclowns are leaving by the nearest window. Five minutes or all three of you had better chugged some Red Bulls.

He’s really proven to be an impotent leader.  I think RBG and Kennedy were the de facto leaders because they had the experience and temperaments to anchor the court while Roberts could guide the technical operation.  Kennedy in particular had the task of sitting on both Alito and Thomas after Alito pushed Thomas even further into social conservatism.  Those two have a bad dynamic that you can’t just structure around.

I'm sure this has no negative effects on the families having to watch the infants die, either.

What did they expect when people are forced to carry to birth everything including something that can't live for more than a day due to things like genetic abnormalities.

Get rid of it while it's a pile of easily removable tissue? No! It's a baby already! It needs to LIVE!

Give birth in 9 months to that same thing that will now scream in pain for three hours until what's left of it's heart expires? Not my problem anymore, here's your hospital bill and the rates for the local undertakers. And don't tell me about your mental health issues from the ordeal because I have to go scream at teenagers and rape victims at the local Planned Parenthood.

I wonder if they have numbers on the number of women left sterile because they were forced to carry a non viable pregnancy to term

Much like with covid, those sorts of things are happening in states run by majority republicans who follow the belief that if you don't record the numbers, they don't really exist and everything is therefore fine.

That’s bullshit. They should be forced to. Also we already had an embarrassingly high infant and mother mortality rate for a first world country, now it’s gotta be horrific

It definitely should be but the 'new norm' from the Dumpster legacy of 2020 is if you don't wanna record something that makes your decisions look like the shit they are, don't record them.

Those 3 liberal justices better live forever or at least 4 more years because we are fucked. At least 1 if not 2 right leaning justices might retire. Giving Trump another pick he can fill with a barely out of law school piece of shit that will strangle this country for a very long time
