Putin: "Stick to the timeline!"

Sometimes, the Ukrainians and their war supporters are frustrating, and frankly don't see long term. Luckily this hasn't caused much trouble for them and the coalition of nations supporting them. One prime example of this is the American-donated Abrams tank.

Remember, the U.S. did *not* want to send the Abrams to Ukraine, but the Ukrainians insisted and there was plenty of criticism of the U.S. from pro-Ukraine people about it. Now, the Ukrainians are realizing the Abrams is not very effective for them. The U.S. said, "you're unlikely to be able to use the Abrams" but they insisted. And now they complain because they aren't effective.

So it's a "we told you so" moment.

Trump threatens to cut US aid to Ukraine quickly if reelected
Ukraine’s allies are scrambling to secure long-term aid for Kyiv amid fears about a second Trump term.

JUNE 16, 2024 1:01 PM CET
BY JONES HAYDEN
Former U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday blasted the scale of U.S. support for Ukraine and said that if he is reelected in November he would immediately "have that settled."

At a campaign rally in Detroit, Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling him “the greatest salesman of all time” for Kyiv’s push to secure U.S. support in its effort to defend Ukraine against Russian aggression more than three years after Moscow's all-out invasion.

“He just left four days ago with $60 billion, and he gets home, and he announces that he needs another $60 billion. It never ends,” Trump said.

“I will have that settled prior to taking the White House as president-elect,” said Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee in the U.S. election.

Ukraine’s Western allies have been working to secure long-term assistance for Kyiv amid fears that Trump’s potential reelection could curtail U.S. support. The Biden administration last week extended long-term security guarantees to Ukraine. That followed congressional approval in April of more than $60 billion in aid to Ukraine.

And NATO countries last week moved forward with a plan for the alliance to take over from the U.S. in coordinating military aid to Ukraine, a shift widely perceived as an effort to "Trump-proof" the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday announced a $1.5 billion aid package for Ukraine, focused primarily on the energy sector and humanitarian assistance. Harris unveiled the package at a two-day Ukraine peace summit in Switzerland.

I got relatives in Sweden. They like their personal space there. Russia doesn't seem to understand how much Swedes love their personal space.

I guess they've decided to fuck with the Swedes because they've already got their ass kicked by Finland once.

We like our peace and quiet. We enjoy our fika [ coffee-time with conversation ]. And if our nearest neighbor is miles away, we are absolutely fine with that.

We also take the garbage out in -30'F in our shorts. Don't mess with us.

Just great.  If true, South Korea has to be worried that it will mean battle-hardened troops will return to DPRK and you know who will think he can march into the south.

Or the South sends troops to Ukraine directly.  Not to mention the possibility of defections.

Unfortunately, I'm guessing that anyone 'conscripted' and sent out to fight on behalf of their Dear Leader's new Dear Friend will go knowing that one or more close family members will be guests of the capital for the duration of their service. Defection is death for someone.

Otherwise, yes, I'd expect massive defections of tapeworm-infested NK soldiers who would rather be treated as proper prisoners of war without firing a fatal shot than bravely march against people who did nothing to them except exist to the west of Russia.

Unfortunately, I think Dear Leader will tell Dear Friend to shoot anyone who refuses to fight or attempts to surrender.  Can't wait for the two of them to become the "Dearly Departed".

In the movie "The Quiet Man", there's a scene where an elderly man is receiving last rites, when news arrives that the big fight that everyone had been hoping/waiting for has finally arrived.  The reaction of the elderly man closely matches the Russian on the stretcher in this video...

Russian pilot gives the names of those responsible for the Children's Hospital missile strikes to Ukrainian authorities...

The Russian soldier wrote that he was shocked by the attack on the children’s hospital and did not understand, as did several of his colleagues, why they were forced to strike at the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine. Therefore, he decided to transfer to Ukraine documents related to the activities of the military unit, as well as private photos of the command staff of the 22nd Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Division,” the project reported, citing its own sources in the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

Essentially, Modi told Putin he wouldn't buy anymore of his oil until Putin agreed to buy more Indian goods.  Seems unnecessary unless Modi thinks he can put Putin over a barrel and squeeze more money out of Russia.

look.

it really is all connected.

Modi is protecting his own hide after he got his ass handed to him in the recent elections.  It's probably just smoke - Putin has far too much manufacturing capacity to afford him any meaningful imports, and India isn't exporting anything he can't make himself... like commercial aircraft parts.
