One of my closest friends I had since middle school tried killing himself yesterday or the day before, taking around 10 sleeping pills thinking it'd be a quiet and easy way for him to go but instead he was passed out for over 16 hours.

I mean, unless it was prescription... OTC is generally 25mgs, and the highest is 50mgs. Even 500mgs wouldnt kill you. You'd have some pretty shallow breathing... but that's about it.

Now booze and sleeping pills, well... that could stop your breathing.

Hope they are ok, today.

it was a case where this one girl who was very important to him, they weren't together or anything, but she was a friend that he felt very devoted to died two days ago from cancer, him talking about it saying "maybe I'll see you soon"

with the sleeping pills he's definitely not knowledgeable about doses, and likely just figured downing a bunch would lead to an OD as people always say will happen with pills

if it was the benadryl sleeping pills then he probably had a quite a body trip too. most unpleasant high I ever had

My friend texted me around midnight saying that he did that with the sleeping pills. He then texted me around 6 saying he was so out of it that he didn't even remember texting me that and said he wouldn't of if he was more aware. He went on to say he went and looked up how much dosage he'd need for sleeping pills to take and it just gave him a suicide hotline result. He looked more into it and it did say that sleeping pills won't do that, and he'd more likely end up brain dead than anything else.

what if I dont take the drugs and swap the fireball for something smooth and feminine?

also "sleeping pills" tells us nothing about what happened really. There's many types
