Nice! I went to the local tavern with some friends I made a few weeks ago and watched some XFL football.

That sounds fun! How was the game?

I wouldn't mind watching a hockey game live soon..

You definitely should, if you can! They're a good time! 😊

Any stand out players I should know about?

I personally think Gerry Mayhew is probably one of the best players on the team. My favorite player is Hunter Warner, but he's been injured for a lot of the season... 😔

It was close for quite a long time, but the team I was rooting for, the Houston Roughnecks, pulled away in the second half to beat the L.A. Wildcats. The final score was 37-17, and the game was played at TDECU Stadium, which is located on the campus of the University of Houston. (I didn't get tickets only because I'm trying to save up for a new truck.)

I watched that and I was thinking "I...like this? And not in like a Spongebob in Sandy's tree-dome yelling 'I NEED IT' way?"

So I read that some of their rules are different than the NFL. Is it pretty different, or similar enough that it’s still pretty easy to follow?

Which position do you play?

Spectator - very important position. I find my skills and abilities are much more effective after a couple of alcoholic beverages

I think we can all agree you played an important role in this match.

Some of the rules are different, particularly on the kickoff. Still, the game is quite similar to the NFL. And they've made it to where they're not competing with the NFL. They're just trying to fill a void for football fans.

On a kickoff the teams are frozen until the receiver catches the ball, run-backs are a lot more fun to watch actually.

After a TD they have the option to run one play for extra points, the 2 yd line is worth 1 pt, the 5 yd line is 2 pts and the 10yd line is worth 3 pts.

One foot is all you need for a catch.

Some of the rules regarding hitting receivers have been changed to allow for hits to break up a catch, but no helmet to helmet or spearing. Basically you can go back to a good old fashioned tackle/laying of lumber as long as it doesn't involve the head.

I've been impressed with it so far, it is really good and the talent level is there.

What I also liked was instead of waiting while multiple replays are shown, they actually show the back and forth between the refs and the replay booth.

The play clock is shorter, it is 24 seconds instead of 40, and they have  dedicated spotting Ref to help speed things along.

It is generally a pretty high paced game, really kind of enjoyable.

Especially when that sport is ice hockey, amirite or amirite????

Hey now...I was only slightly intoxicated. Get it right 😜

I’ve learned my lesson and stop drinking once I start feeling a bit of a buzz.

Also, yes. Hockey games are a blast! I definitely suggest going to one if you’ve never been! ☺️
