Colourpop is having 30% off site wide https://colourpop.com/

Soma is also having 30% off site wide on top of other promotions, great deal https://www.soma.com/store/

And I got some asics in person at nordstrom rack and some flats from amazon

Colourpop has no sale. That 30% off thing is a normal occurrence/coupon, so it's not getting added.

I worked at Apple for damn near a decade. A clothing store is light work, son.

Pfft.  You haven't worked "real" retail.  We had a fistfight break out at a register at Kmart.  At some point, one of the combatants (a Priest) spat on the guy he was fighting with.

I have. At Toys 'R' Us, we had soccer moms throw down over a Wii Remote.

We had a dude bring knives (plural) and a gun into my Apple Store. It was uncomfortable to have the police arrest him.
We also had several fist fights in my store, too. Especially around the holidays. I used to hate it.
When I worked at Fry's, we had people constantly fighting in the lobby and parking lot.

Well before Wii, it was Cabbage Patch Kids.  Thankfully I was working overnights when that crap went down.  For some reason, the Kmart in Chicago that I was at got a lot of "just out of Pontiac Correctional" guys, trying to rip the store off.  Mgmt wasn't supposed to get involved with grabbing them, but when 3 security guys (all off duty CPD & CFD) are having trouble with one guy, I'd go for the legs so they couldn't get back up.

Cabbage Patch Kids? Seriously? That was like.....25 years ago. "Tickle Me Elmo", then Furbies, then Pokemon junk, then iPhones, then other tech junk, then Wiis.

Yeah, go for the legs. They almost never work them.

Didn't mean I wasn't around for the others - I always wanted to put sunglasses and stick a cigarette in the Teddy Ruxpin display's mouth.

There aren't really any Sears locations left, so I didn't include it.

There's maybe a handful in the US right now.

Dot com...and there's over 100 still, not including the Hometown stores.

Lowes home depot  menards

All right. Looked them up and added Home Depot and Lowe’s

Menard’s is more local to where you are.

I’m trying to stick to national stores/universally available places, as they have the same sales everywhere, unless it is a CRAZY deal that MUST be mentioned, then I’ll add it.

I’ve been ordering things online to help lighten the load on the cashiers or guest services reps that have to deal with unruly customers this time of year. That and gifts I have to buy people are from online-only vendors.

I’ve gotten some impulse buys so far like Shenmue 1&2 and Resident Evil 2, but I’ll try to get some gifts on the web while offers last.

Do it. Continue to do that. It will force brick-and-mortars to rethink their models and pay employees. Or, simply cause then to go out of business (Sears)

I don’t really do impulse buys. I WILL, however, make some this year. There are some towels at Walmart that are $1.60 on sale. I want them ALL. I’m replacing my old, raggedy ones.

Also, I mostly buy from online because it’s easier for me, as it does not require me to interact with people. I prefer that to being in the world buying shit.

Those are not the only 2 possibilities.  Companies can go full dotcom, big box locations can downsize (Sears) their location footprint or number of locations, they can sell out to another company (Montgomery Wards - part of Swiss Colony, Zayre - now TJMaxx, Woolworth's - now FootLocker, Marshall Field's - now Macy's), shrink from nationwide to a regional area, maintain the only profitable location(s) (Tower Records - Japan)...

Then there are companies that "rent" the name.  You'd be able to find Sears in Germany & Kmart in Australia, but they are not owned by the US Sears, there's some sort of financial agreement where the other companies can use the name.

i wonder what kmart's sale is on today? dust bunnies?

The Warehouses would still have product to get rid of, there are State, County & Municipal laws that restrict how much product can be sent to a location that is closing, so the DotCom & remaining stores would have to deal with it.  That is probably why they're having large Black Friday discounts.

I've checked out some PC hardware on Newegg, Amazon and Best Buy.
Looks like most of it is discounted under 10 dollars and they hiked the "original" price up to make it look like it's a better deal than what it is.

that's usually what they do. for amazon you can use camelcamelcamel. it's what i use to see if something is really discounted

Thank you, and good day.

There's actually a pretty good one that is NOT part of the Black Friday sale at Walmart. It's like $48, and works well. It's the GE one that I have in my apartment.

It's not an uncommon practice. I've seen it used more than once in my time. Fuck, at Toys 'R Us, they markup some toys so high, people don't even notice a price change, but will buy it, anyway.
I remember once they had a "Ryan Reviews" toy on sale for the ORIGINAL PRICE, and people HAD to have it, because it was a good deal. They literally jacked the price up to TRIPLE what it was worth, then "discounted" that price for Black Friday.......to the original price it was, and sold it "at a special holiday discount".

I bought stuff from Amazon, Bestbuy, Sentai, and Nintendo eshop.

I have a $10 PSN card and think I'll just use it on Legend of Dragoon($6, not on sale) and Legend of Mana ($3), don't need to spend any more real money there.

Got some things from Amazon, PSN, and Sentai. Didn’t get as much anime this year as I did last year.
