Like in how long? 20 years?

I dunno, I haven't been paying a lot of attention to the world. I would say 50 to 100 is likely because it seems like a transitional time, but weather could easily be livably strange for another 300 years.

make humans extinct? most likely not.

cause humans lots of death and suffering? it's already happening and it will only get worse.

maybe. I bet they will have several a lot of things :D they will have that self awareness thing that makes us "human"

It's crazy to think that self awareness is literally the only thing we have on animals

tho we most likely will have nuclear war before climate change really messes shit up. nuclear war will cause mass extinctions, including human.

Who's gonna start it tho?

Not entirely. It will just cause immeasurable suffering and death on an unimaginable and unseen scale. The black death will look like a kid got the common cold by comparison.

Hopefully the society that emerges will be more civilized and thoughtful and won't do the same shit over again.

I don't know why you think you're going to burst my anything. my best friend is a cat

Cats lack self awareness, they look in a mirror and go bananas cuz they think it's another cat

I don't think I did. if so that's not really what I meant.

you did but it's not important.  Well it does tie into the OP in a way.  Humans try to set themselves apart from other species and the ecosystem and that's why we're in the mess we are in today with climate change

yup. that's what I was saying it another way of saying it. I wasn't talking about other animals having or not having self awareness

Forgot why I logged in in the first place.

This is the attitude that makes me pretty certain it will come to billions dying before actual measures are taken towards keeping Earth habitable. Hopefully by then it'll be a matter of installing a few plants over the course of a few months.

Yeah, yeah, see you all in twenty years when we'll all still be alive and having this exact same discussion.

God, I can't wait for this to get out of the news cycle...

you didn't imply it, you right out said it :ph34r:xD

and I did not I just went and reread my post and it don't say anything about about any other animals self awareness and the word "only" was not in the post to describe humans self awareness. I am far too OCD to play the word twisty game

Oh, my apologies, you were only agreeing with someone else’s assessment
