Unfortunately I found it while my boss was standing right next to me so I had to turn it in. According to her I'll have "good karma". Too bad I don't believe in any of that nonsense but hey maybe my good karma means that annoying cunt gets into a fatal car accident I won't ever have to see her again:|

It was mine. Go tell her you had someone claim it. I called in to report it and you spoke with me and I asked for you personally to mail it back, or I'm going to file a complaint. Then you pocket it.

One time when I lived on my own by myself, I had completely run out of money. This was before paypal and other such things and I had NO ONE to ask for money. I was planning on playing sick and missing days from work because I couldn't afford gas to make it there.

 

I walk out to my car and right there in the parking lot was a crisp 20... like god sent!

Anything I find at work goes to the lost and found department.  I get a receipt.  If it's not claimed, I can claim it after the designated waiting period.

This literally happened to my son today at school, but it was just a dollar....I told him he's not gonna see it again.

But he's lucky....He found 60 bucks in the grocery store a few months back....I had a few of his friends and my nephews with me, and they were all pissed.

Here are the facts:

The luggage in question is identified with the guests' names.  If it is left behind by the guests after checkout, a process begins to contact the guests.  This process includes repeated emails, telephone calls and even certified postal mail for up to three months.  In most cases, the luggage is reclaimed by the guests and I never touch any of it.  In a few cases, all efforts to contact the guests produce no response.  In that situation, the luggage then becomes forfeited by the guests and becomes the hotel's property.  The management then has the right (yes, legally) to dispose of, sell or in my case, give away the luggage.  All I need at that point is permission from management to claim it.

No permission, no taking.  With permission, it's all mine, both legally and morally.

I found wallet purse with credit cards and at least $200+ along with a photo id and social security card several years ago on a sidewalk. Promptly picked it up and turn that shit in. I ain't messing with that if it has the owner of the lost item info on there.

Why would they invite the possibility of lawsuits by keeping records of shit they hold on to for someone else as a courtesy?  That would be idiotic.  Not that it's beyond the possibility that a shit tier establishment might foolishly invite the liability.  I mean, they hired you after all.
