NSAID Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 I feel like this is secretly a natural noise for everyone, but in the time before I moved to the midwest I was an unemployed teenager and didn't have to pretend to care about being rude when bumping into people. But I prefer to make other various, more aggressive(?) tiny noises when bumped into by non-customers.
Hornshire Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Never. We're not big on saying things that aren't either words or fart noises. We suppose there's a case to be made that this falls under the later.

rpgamer Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Yeah, and I'm telling you, it should be "oop." Where the fuck did these fuckwits get the idea that "ope" gets a long o sound? Nope. Rope. Dope. Slope. (hey, remember when that was a censored word, lol). "Ope" as presented doesn't follow established expectations. I see "ope" and it sounds like the end of all those other words. It sure as hell doesn't sound like "oop," which is the word/noise in question. 1 1
KimopoBotar Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 I've never been east of Vegas and i say it all the time.

Doom Metal Alchemist Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Basically like rpgamer is saying, I have never heard it pronounced rhyming with 'nope.' But I say and hear 'oop' plenty.
