I was contemplating going, but after browsing the reunion’s Facebook group, I think I’ll pass. I don’t even remember but maybe a handful of those people. Also, it’s gonna be at 2:00 in the afternoon. Who does that?

I'm not on social media, so I have no clue if there was a ten year reunion back in June, but I'm only going if they allow legal age teens in as well because it should be all inclusive. I'm not going if it's just the old, senior citizens.

I’m sure that all reunions are only meant for the class and their partners and their children.

I think you will have to sit yours out, grandpa.

And i wouldn't go to mine. Fuck those assholes. I'm already in touch with the only freind i waned to keep in touch with from high school. I'm good.

I had two best friends in school. One is a pothead from way back. (I might want to go just to smoke one with him), and the other, I haven’t seen since high school. I’m 99.9999% sure that I will not be attending.

My class was so small like 80 people give or take. The vast majority either died or went to prison. The rest of us typically avoid each other. They didn't do a ten year but did do a 20 year. I didn't go to it. If they do anymore I will definitely be missing those as well.

I was looking through the people that are in the reunion group, and I just couldn’t remember many of them. I got along with almost everyone in school, but I hated school. And after so many years, I don’t have anything to catch up on with any of them. I don’t care what they’re doing these days. And 2:00 in the afternoon. Burgers and hot dogs. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish. Plus, you have to pay to get in. It just sounds like a whole lot of hell no to me.

I would like to think of my reunion being like the reunion in Sunny in Philly, only no one at school was that cool.

Of course, disco and I could burst in there and sing Freedom, smash a beer bottle and dip.

Only went to my 10th for my 1st HS ("collect all three!"), and only because there was someone I really wanted to see there (she invited me - then didn't show - long story).

Don't think I'll be doing that again.

I remember mine was early in the evening to accommodate travel/kids/work/etc.

It was also actually pretty fun.

Ours is on a Saturday. 2:00 in the afternoon is too early and too inconvenient of a time for us. Disco and I don’t have a terrible amount of free time, and when we do, we can think of a million things better to do than go to a reunion. On the other hand, it would give us a break from the kids and housework. Also, there was no mention of alcohol. I don’t drink, but I might have to in order to tolerate most of those folks. I don’t remember many of them, but I have to converse with anyone about sitting next to them in whatever class, I’ll need to be buzzed to keep up with that crap.

Poor shit...

My high school bourgeois AF....

Dude...want some inside on my high school?  Was on fifteen acres of land, we had cross country skii-ing running and biking on our own school property, had 4 baseball diamonds, 6 tennis courts, 2 soccer fields, 2 football fields, and archery range, the FFA grew Christmas trees, tapped maple trees and manufactured our own maple syrup. The FFA also had a store by the road that they could sell school spirit merch as well as the syrup and trees..

The year I graduated they spent 1mil on a sports complex. This had concession, school store, and 8 flat screen TVs that when people went up there they didn’t miss the varsity games going on...

Mine was a Saturday too. Not that early, but about 4(?) which is more reasonable.
Mine was at a bowling alley (the only thing to do in the town besides ONLY drink) so drinking was implicit.
I feel like drinking is implied at most of these things.

Speaking only from the experience of my own, there was some "What are you doing these days" conversations, but nobody cared to discuss high school. I feel the whole "converse about sitting next to people in class" was a misconception we all had about reunions and all worried about.

But also speaking from experience, it's sort of a largely missable event. I could've gone without going, but I was in the area because my spouse and I planned a trip to the zoo the following day, to celebrate the red panda's birthday. He was turning 4.

Jesus! Yeah. Your school would eat my school and shit it back out. But I’m not gonna lie, I totally dig the maple syrup concept your FFA has. Sounds like a very rich community, in maybe Vermont or New Hampshire?

I just want to go and pull the High School Reunion episode from Sunny in Philly, and bounce. I think I can talk disco into it. 😂

I’ve yet to venture to NY. I’ve spent all of my life in the south. I did make it to Detroit once, and had my damn cooler stolen out the back of my truck. I didn’t realize there were rednecks up north at that time, because that was a total redneck move, stealing another man’s cooler. Disco wants desperately for us to take a fall trip to Vermont. I would love to see New England in the fall. It’s on my bucket list.

I do recommend the finger lakes in NY...that’s the wine country and it’s stunning...

2 in the afternoon? Really? Who does that bullshit? Soccer moms?

Also.....I went to school in a really bourgeois district.....so ours had lots of money in it.

Yeah, I’ve never heard of a reunion being at 2 in the fucking afternoon before either. Very much probably soccer moms who have to eat be in bed early so they can go to church the next day. I can just stay home and slap my nuts with a fly swatter and get the same results as being bothered with some boring nerds I went to school with.

My first one was a couple years ago

whoever organized it wanted people to pay $50 to attend

I really didn't see a point in going seeing as I still hangout with my closest friends from High School plus, I kind of feel like social media has kind of made reunions point less

Agreed. Also, I wouldn’t pay $50 to see anyone. Unless of course, it was Wrestlemania.

I'll catch the next one. I only missed this last one because I was off of social media. Plus, then there'll be some legal age teens at the 20th anniversary and I could regale them with old war stories from Fortnite and stories about how I was the BMOC and used to operate in alpha jock mode from homeroom until the final bell and even beyond that as I would walk with sexy cheerleader types to my house. 🐰

I was invited to the last one, but declined. This one, I wasn’t invited to, but it was advertised in the newspaper last week. Like they’re begging people to come to it. It’s pathetic really. I’ve never seen an ad in the paper telling you who to call for information, and to visit the reunion’s Facebook page. I checked out the page, but it was a private group that you had to ask to join. Lame as fuck.

The legal age teen sons and daughters of your classmates. I think if you make a move on one of them, your classmates will make a move on you.

Right?

I mean I graduated with around 1200 kids so it's kind of hard to miss people you never really got to know

Our class was only around 200-300 I think. Most of whom have moved away.

Plus, this reunion wants you to pay $10, or $15 for you and your spouse, plus, bring a side dish to go with the damn hamburgers and hot dogs fine dining experience.

There should be plenty of offense for anyone who “rolls” that way. Anyone banging someone under age, should have their genitals removed and inserted up their asses. Not saying you are one, just speaking in general.

I don’t think alcohol could even sweeten this deal for me either. Unless they’re passing out dime bags at the door, I think they can suck it.
