Most places generally have an edit feature, or you make a secondary post with a clarification.

Or you just don't get so hung up that other people misinterpret you.

And if neither of those are satisfactory options, then maybe just don't post to begin with.

no one knows what theyre posting.  we could be posting in russian right now.

that could be interpreted in a different way than you intended it to appear or sound?

is there like a google hotline, lol

or should you report yourself? lol

If it's something I know could go more than one way I type it out then read it through a different lens so to speak. If l just can't make it work i put in a brief explanation. Even then you never know how others might take it. In some cases i know it will be misinterpreted and i just delete the whole thing and it never gets posted. Nothing on a message board is as urgent as we might think it is and words have power, even here.

True facts. It's difficult to exercise discretion; the right tool for the job. No one knows everything about everything and while the influence words exert on our minds in a social context is potent, knowing, hearing or reading words does not guarantee understanding.

I feel a sense of brotherhood and deep humility with those first human beings who had no words, only each other and the immediate need to survive... I'd wager they understood each other better than most people alive today. Still, our ancestors made it through the last ice age with nothing but sticks and rocks so we've got this shit.

I feel like everything is misinterpreted on the internet these days.

but sometimes cultural relevance takes preference and looking at something you typed a week ago could mean something other then it did then.  or even minutes later.

misinterpreted, misunderstood, or mischaracterized posts can be damaging.

I simply don't care, and you simply shouldn't either. I'll apologize, if absolutely necessary, but it is the internet where dumb shit is everywhere.

well thanks.

thats like

does more time and thought has to go into posts than people think?, or is everything with no real foundation and better to just joke around about?
