Apples and cheese is a total northern midwest thing. Ask Mewn[/member]

I usually use a crumbled blue cheese, something like a Gorgonzola.  Nothing super funky, stick with the mild side.

I've snacked on blue cheese crumbles before.

Never thought to pair them with pear, though.

I don't think that's true for all of the midwest.  I live in WI and I've never seen anyone eat apples and cheese.

Peanut butter and apples are pretty good though.

im originally from NY and we used to do that....also put a slice of cheese on a hot apple pie slice...but we also used to take grapes, cover them in goat cheese and crushed pistachio....

What?

I lived in Chicago for 38 years, and even as the natural enemy of Wisconsin we knew that apples and cheddar cheese was a Wisconsin thing and a darn fine one as well.

I've lived in the Midwest my entire life and I've never heard of this

That's crazy, but then again I never heard of tenderloins until I moved to Indiana so....

Well, the point is, it is a darn fine combination, like peanut butter and jelly, so people should take this new to them information and enjoy it. :)

I think that's only true for part of Wisconsin.  I've lived in Brookfield since 1981 and I've never seen anyone eat apples and cheddar cheese.

We do love our cheese here, but I personally think bratwurst is better.
