All right, kids, so here's the deal.

A lot of UEMBers have PM'ed me and, quite frankly, I failed to appear in court on the 11th for the three tickets (driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, and having a broken mirror). ANYWAY... I got a letter in the mail asking me to appear for the same s--- on October 2nd, and I've already request an early exit from my job that day to make it to court, but I'm going to consult the legal scholars online and see whether I'll be facing a couple of days of jail for these charges of which I am undoubtedly guilty. If so, I won't be there on the 2nd and will become an employed fugitive. However, if I just get fines and they let me make a payment plan of like $20/month, I'll be satisfied.

Right now I'm at a Subway restaurant ("restaurant") in North Jersey because the bus I take back home inexplicably didn't run today (Did the mofo quit?),  so I'll be walking a ton of distance and eventually calling a Lyft to get home, provided that my 53% charge cell phone holds up, and this thread isn't helping. So yeah, post comments, thoughts, and whatnot. F the police, I really shouldn't go

they're letting you appear a second time?

They said online that this was a distinct possibility, so I'm not all that surprised. I'm ruined if I get ANY jailtime though since I'll lose my job for missing work and lying about why I left early on October 2nd, so I really can only go if it's a certainty that I'll just be given a hefty fine and a payment plan to pay it off, and not jailed.

wait wut, you're not sure why they sent the second letter? they would have probably been more lenient if you had gone the first time

If you ditch this second time they will put a warrant out on you for sure.

Chances are since you got a second date they didn't issue it yet, but if you ditch again it is a no bail failure to appear warrant and a couple weeks in the county for you Zeni.

Well if I go, I could be screwed as well, especially if I don't come with any money in my pockets.

Zeni, as long as you can show gainful employment they won't toss you in jail for inability to pay directly.

They will just garnish your income until the fines are paid off.

Go to court, this isn't the kind of thing you can ignore and wait for it to go away.

Or don't, and get used to being on the lam.  ohno

stop trying to play the tough guy for shock value. go to he damn court and take care of your business.

Woah, hey, c'mon now... Let's not start accusing this good man of playing tough for shock value. Personally, I think he has a really good case, and his best option is to skip court and just go to work that day. Court stuff takes forever to go through, might as well make money while you wait.
