Probably should have at least two stops, especially if you're not used to sitting in car four a couple hours at a time. I've done late night drives to the Bay Area which are six hours with two stops and done fine. Of course, thats on the I-5 doing 80 most of the way; the faster you drive, the less fatiguing it tends to be.

Just take breaks and get lots of sleep beforehand. Do you commute every day?
