  2. 500 posts will get you anywhere that you don't need powers for. Spam on, my friend.
  3. There are no villages. Just trailer parks.
  4. On top is fine, although I prefer a little vinegar myself.
  5. I'm probably having ginger ale and saltines - I've been sick for the last 3 out of 4 Thanksgivings.
  6. In it or on it? As in, part of the recipe or just on top of the completed product?
  7. Asking that question may actually rank somewhere below pinning a "Kick Me" sign to the seat of one's trousers.
  8. Common decency is like that.
  9. Not as odd as putting rattlesnakes in the mailboxes of people who don't agree with you.
  10. If 2021 is anything like 2020, don't take them down.

  13. Aw,fuck. Somebody sprayed a whole can of PAM into a rather extended puddle in front of the shelves in the cellar. The only good thing is that the floor is cement, so whatever I wind up using to get the residue up won't hurt it.

  15. She's probably working out and planning a strategy for her showdown with Angela Lansbury. There can be only one.
  16. There can be only one. So who's left?
  17. I once had a friend tell me that the reason that dealing with kids gets on my nerves was from the years I spent in the ER. In his words, "The way you're used to dealing with other people's kids is to restrain them or sedate them." And it's true, even with Dexter and DeeDee. At this point, I question whether all three of us will survive long distance learning; Covid is starting to look less and less threatening as opposed to being stuck in the house with the kids until June. And at least when one is on a vent, one gets hard drugs.
  18. Aw, man. Randi's been one of my heros since the first time I read The Faith Healers some 30 years ago. Not unexpected, but still, reason has lost another voice.
  19. Thank you. And your borogroves are quite mimsy indeed.
  20. No. I have both grown and cooked both, and am well aware of the difference. It's a boomer thing, I guess - back when I was a kid, one used to be able to buy broccoli in spears - the stems weren't quite as thick, and my mother used to get us to eat it by telling us that we were eating trees. That looks remarkably similar, but according to wiki, it wasn't available in the states until the late 90's; the time period I'm thinking of is the late 60's/early 70's. I don't know; maybe broccoli has been bred to produce more florets at the expense of having thicker, tougher stems.

  22. When did it stop growing in spears? (I know that this is not a brand new thing, but it was really bugging me last night while I was making broccoli for supper.)
  23. Damn, I miss Jeremy Kyle.
  24. Where am I when people are taking these surveys?
