Honestly with all everything related to the ASMB's anniversary etc., I kinda had that thought that it would be cool to connect more with like-interested people from similar places, like Toonzone. So hopefully we can enrich your internet experience just as you enrich the conversation. Little by little we all come together.

2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences
Raptorpat replied to NewBluntsworth's topic in Current Events
Virginia holds odd-year state elections (alongside Kentucky) and I think we'll treat them as part of the 2024 cycle. And the VA primaries were yesterday, where a number of incumbents lost their primaries due to the state's new maps. Quoted from the article, some of the most prominent include: Sen. Joe Morrissey, a political centrist and increasingly rare Democrat who supports limits on abortion access, lost to former state legislator Lashrecse Aird, who calls herself a 100% supporter of abortion rights. Republican Sen. Amanda Chase, a right-wing firebrand who has served in the Senate since 2016 and embraced falsehoods about the 2020 presidential election, was edged out by Glen Sturtevant, a lawyer and former senator seeking a political comeback in the red-leaning suburban Richmond district. Saddam Salim, a first-generation immigrant and political activist, defeated moderate Democratic Sen. Chap Petersen, a lawyer who angered the angered the liberal wing of his party by providing a key vote for Republicans in getting some of Youngkin’s priorities across the finish line, including legislation that ended school mask mandates last year. https://apnews.com/article/virginia-primary-election-2023-becbc84b7023c6326b7546c9d7476a7f -

BIG MONEY IDEA! Do You Want To Die At The Bottom Of The Sea?

I saw somewhere, and I don't know that I believe it, that the submersible was controlled by a 20+ year old Logitech controller. -
I bought so much DLC for 1 that I never actually played, now I'm like "do I just play CS1 or do CS2 when it comes out?"

The GOP will now complain that he was given an easy out with no jail and it's still an example of a compromised/political/anti-Trump DOJ. If he went to jail they would complain that it speaks to Joe's character and ethics.

so I'm not too far into the actual game, did the lookout landing stuff and got the camera and the quests all branch out. So i started farting around, exploring the lower interior Hyrule Castle area because an NPC mentioned looking for something there and I wanted to see how it's different from botw. And that began a long meandering through a couple game sessions, counterclockwise from the castle down to the great plateau which was another place I wanted to compare (given it's the botw tutorial area). Having only seen a miniscule amount of the game, my absolute favorite thing so far is: Like 10/10 don't even need to play the rest of the game.

Did you start a lot of threads on the old [asmb]?
Raptorpat replied to eklipse's topic in ASMB 20th Reunion
oh man that was the other factor in whether to make an IB thread, it was a balancing act to try to organically reply to everyone who'd expect a reply without also having like several posts in a row -

Did you start a lot of threads on the old [asmb]?
Raptorpat replied to eklipse's topic in ASMB 20th Reunion
What I really liked to do in my fast-paced IB days was scroll to the bottom of the first page and reply to threads that had gotten no traction and try to jumpstart them before they got swept-under. Apparently I had a bit of a reputation for a bit for always getting the first reply in, but that was my secret to why it seemed like that. -

I wasn't much of a thread-starter, usually saved for special occasions. In my IB days, I was a heavy thread-replier. But then I evolved into a current events mega-thread replier. -

Anyone here even use the Adult Swim app anymore?
Raptorpat replied to [classic swim]'s topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
admittedly I did not know they had an app -
what if your super power required you to "charge" like in dragon ball z, where you're squatting and yelling/grunting while working the diaphragm real good follow-up question: would a lifetime of doing that to use your superpower inevitably make you incontinent

we're not at that point yet, though she has realized that pressing buttons or moving the stick on the controller makes stuff happen on the tv! when it is time, I'm not sure whether to start her with modern kid-friendly stuff or make her start with NES/SNES stuff. even me as an adult am so accustomed to modern QOL stuff that I find it hard to play old trial-and-error ball-achingly hard stuff.
