Which is to say that you're right to the extent that technically it was a failed insurrection. As far as this, well the committee answered this directly in the five minutes beginning at the time stamp: Not only did multiple witnesses corroborate the gist of the story Hutchinson relayed (that there was a heated dispute between Trump wanting to go to the Capitol and the detail refusing to take him), but the Secret Service is finally beginning to play ball with more to come down the road.

Right. So traffic and activity have declined significantly over the past few years. Routine visitors have declined by between one half and one third, however actual content has fallen off significantly more than that. Below is a basic chart for context: Set aside "new blood" for the sake of discussion, because I included it just to make the point that it's not even a target at this point. The "active user" category is self evident - people who both log in and engage in content. The "other ASMB" category are people who never made the jump, or popped in once or twice but never engaged. The "lapsed user" category is made up of people who were formerly active, and have either left the site completely or lurk for one reason or another, and their absence represents about four times the amount of content that is posted in the current normal. This is obviously unrefined (it doesn't distinguish between the types of content being posted for example), but it paints the picture. So we conducted a survey to seek out opinions from active users, lapsed users from all corners, and maybe even some of the other ASMB folks who never joined. What do people like about the site or wish the site did better, what don't they like or why did they leave? The goal was to try to construct a path that might give everyone a little of what they want and see if we can increase numbers from the orange and yellow categories without alienating the red category. It may be that we can't, due to one too many mistakes in the past or just that it's the natural life cycle of a near-20 year old internet community. But it's the people that say things like "I don't come around often, but I really value that we still have a home" or "the ASMB was really important to me in a vulnerable time and I appreciate that you're still out there" that make it worth the effort to try. The 20th anniversary date isn't a guaranteed kill-switch date if nothing changes, but at a minimum I think we've agreed that it would be a pivot point in one way or another.

My father told us a story once about the first time he ever ordered delivery by himself. To paraphrase: He was about 10-12 and home alone (he was the youngest in a huge family), and called the pizza place or wherever to ask how much xyz was as he's counting his change and thinks "yes! I have that exact amount, perfect!" Fast forward and the delivery guy drops off his order, he proudly and confidently hands over exactly change. The guy counts it and, "Is that it?" "Yup!" Moment of silence until the guy realizes he has no idea what tipping is, just had to laugh it off and go on his way.

The omnibus gun package was so over-the-top but towing the line Thomas articulated that they're basically daring the federal courts to start carving it up.

The second site tab next to "Browse" is "Activity" and there's all sorts of customizable feeds that I guarantee none of us have ever looked at.

As a general FYI because there have been some questions, the default landing page for the club is the "overview" which is just a chronological feed of all activity in the club. The tabs at the top of each club include the overview, the member list, and at least one traditional board. Click on that board tab, whatever it may be named, and use it/create threads like normal. If I can find a way to disable the default overview tab I will (it doesn't really make sense unless there's multiple boards or other features enabled within the club).

The groups you join should appear at the bottom of the Forum page, under the archives, and should appear just like regular boards do in that regard. Does it work for you?

When I'm sad and lonely late at night sometime this week I might go through this thread and splice out some recurring topics and port them over as individual threads in the club. Unjumble it, like a set of Christmas tree lights.

I transferred ownership so you can tailor it however, add a real image for a logo instead of the uemb emblem. I also made TG a club mod because why not. Then, funny thing happened, I somehow banned myself from the club space, even though I have access as admin.

I think politics stuff worked out in terms of visibility, so they're probably fine. And I think it'll work out better to mix politics with other current events (news, RIP threads, etc) rather than shoehorn it into an intentionally angry folder. Classic rants content can fall into GD or whatever topic someone wants to rant about, maybe we can create a universal "rant" tag an OP can apply to threads.

The new Noise will have a Current Events folder (news/politics etc.) and the catch-all General Discussion folder. Sports would fall under GD, unless people think that's current events? pooh - yeah we can totally float whatever sports are in active season
