His speech was absolutely one hundred percent geared towards that 73% audience. One of the most consistent themes was his administration as the defender of old people and their benefits and their wallets.

It's called "the state of the union" it's pretty low-key underground and you've probably never heard of it.

You and the right-wing radio jockey you listen to are mischaracterizing his ad-lib during the State of the Union. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2023/02/07/remarks-by-president-biden-in-state-of-the-union-address-2/

my history teacher in middle school once told a story about cooking spaghetti for his small niece, and she sneezed while eating and there was a spaghetti strand sticking out both her nose and her mouth at the same time "which end do you want me to pull it out from?" "PULL IT OUT MY MOUTH" "but then there will be boogers on it" "AHHHHH PULL IT OUT MY NOSE WAAAAAAAAAH'

It's late so I'm not going spelunking, but evidently Trump was amplifying on his faketwitter rumors that DeSantis is a groomer/pedophile. This shitshow is already commencing guys. -

Dealing with a toddler, but my most prominent thoughts: the first half hour (before most people check out) was generally recapturing bipartisan accomplishments and things Republicans would have to contort really hard to criticize McCarthy looks really annoyed whenever he has to clap then he pivots into partisan accomplishments and threatens a hard veto of anything that walks them back (prescription drug price controls) he called out Republicans for voting on the debt ceiling three times for Trump and demanded they do the same, got lots and lots of boos but then he seemed to get them to commit to taking social security/medicare/medicaid off the table via universal applause on live television basically he's mostly rhetorically been boxing in the Republicans on things that aren't traditionally partisan, with occasional breaks to try and thread a needle (or sometimes hammer) on more partisan things like climate change/energy, the pro act, policing, banning assault weapons, abortion, LGBTQ rights jfc you can see Sen. Sinema's angel banana suit from a mile away doubled down on supporting Ukraine "for as long as it takes", missed what he said about China but talking real tough about the balloon just now (McCarthy's twitter complained that Biden hadn't talked about China yet while he was talking about China) he's back to the hyper-bipartisan talk on cancer, praising GWB for the investments to end HIV to get the Republicans on board for curing cancer def running for reelection and this was the preview

Funny you mention the importance of sleep just this moment... Me half hour ago: in bed falling asleep Phone starts vibrating, aunt calling Phone vibrates an extra time for new voicemail Two minutes later: phone vibrates from text from my mom "your aunt has covid and can't watch the baby tomorrow, call your stepfather" Two minutes after that: phone vibrates from mom text again "call your aunt and your stepfather" I give up and have a six minute convo with aunt questioning whether and how it's positive and I just say "if you have the red line then you're positive" I call my stepfather so he can make babysitting arrangements One minute later: mom calls while phone is still in my hand, asked the very urgent question of "who is babysitting the rest of the week after Tuesday" and concluded by telling me to go back to bed so now I'm wide awake

I just really want to know how @TrigunBebop is handling all of this -
Induction cooking patents have been around for a century, they really went commercial in the 1950s (most likely after the technology was refined to allow for safe cooking on military submarines), and induction is popular in Europe. It did not become commercially successful in the US because it was prohibitively expensive (only relatively recently has the cost leveled out) and because the natural gas lobby pulled off a masterful branding campaign to convince Americans that burning fossil fuels in enclosed spaces is both totally safe and they classiest way to cook.

no it's not

we got an induction stove after an unfortunate kitchen fire, didn't want an electric again and definitely didn't want to install a gas hookup COOKING WITH THE POWER OF MAGNETS
