  1. please don't wait a whole year to reply to tonight's too
  2. you're about 364 days and 22 hours too late to get a response video in
  3. Funny you mention the importance of sleep just this moment... Me half hour ago: in bed falling asleep Phone starts vibrating, aunt calling Phone vibrates an extra time for new voicemail Two minutes later: phone vibrates from text from my mom "your aunt has covid and can't watch the baby tomorrow, call your stepfather" Two minutes after that: phone vibrates from mom text again "call your aunt and your stepfather" I give up and have a six minute convo with aunt questioning whether and how it's positive and I just say "if you have the red line then you're positive" I call my stepfather so he can make babysitting arrangements One minute later: mom calls while phone is still in my hand, asked the very urgent question of "who is babysitting the rest of the week after Tuesday" and concluded by telling me to go back to bed so now I'm wide awake
  4. Or is it a refractory period?

  6. I just really want to know how @TrigunBebop is handling all of this
  7. Induction cooking patents have been around for a century, they really went commercial in the 1950s (most likely after the technology was refined to allow for safe cooking on military submarines), and induction is popular in Europe. It did not become commercially successful in the US because it was prohibitively expensive (only relatively recently has the cost leveled out) and because the natural gas lobby pulled off a masterful branding campaign to convince Americans that burning fossil fuels in enclosed spaces is both totally safe and they classiest way to cook.
  8. we got an induction stove after an unfortunate kitchen fire, didn't want an electric again and definitely didn't want to install a gas hookup COOKING WITH THE POWER OF MAGNETS
  9. I've felt so sleep deprived the past couple weeks and that's with going to bed at a regular hour throughout. This is the latest I've stayed up, by like four hours, in two weeks and I'm afraid I've ruined the entire coming week.

  12. I changed it in the admin panel, humor me and kick your alt and see if your alt can unilaterally rejoin without an invite from your main
  13. Open Group might be better option, but you would have to test if someone kicked from the group can just rejoin without an invite. Alternatively, admin can have it set as open group during the join phase and convert it to read only in the game phase.

  19. PA Republicans are supposedly coalescing around Dave McCormick (who narrowly lost to Dr. Oz in the primary this past election) to challenge Sen. Bob Casey. This is a natural target seat, and he is a better candidate than Oz, but Casey also has a proven history of winning (in 2012, when the Dems last had an incumbent president running for reelection, Casey overperformed Obama by like two points). The article also mentions that McCormick hasn't formally agreed to run. https://thehill.com/homenews/3830466-republicans-tap-mccormick-to-oust-sen-casey-in-2024-pennsylvania-race/
