https://www.news.com.au/world/europe/vladimir-putins-glitzy-989-million-megayacht-seized-by-the-italian-government/news-story/f733cba0c00115add6e6e1ea4a463c1c Another day, another idea for that Yacht Hunter script of mine. Even if it’s not Putin’s personal yacht (which it most likely is), it’s still an insane ship with an equivalent cost a top of the line frigate for the US Navy. The fact that the vessel has a judo dojo on board seems to support it’s Vlad’s (he’s a well known practitioner of the art and even wrote a book on the subject with help from two Russian national team black belts. It’s actually a good read on the tactical aspects of the sport and demonstrates how to chain moves into combinations, something a lot of judo texts don’t mention).

https://www.businessinsider.nl/russias-most-advanced-tank-in-service-was-obliterated-by-ukraine-just-days-after-it-was-deployed-according-to-reports/ Russia decided to deploy their limited supply of advanced battle tanks into Ukraine to help turn the tide. The end result was that one of their precious few T-90s was turned to scrap metal, and they don’t have the numbers to replace them.

They made the wrong sequel. They should have made a second LA Bleach movie, not a second LA FMA movie. And they dragged poor Mackenyu Arata out for it as well, because apparently he wants to be in EVERY LA adaptation of a manga to show they don't have to suck (he was in the last Kenshin film which is considered a genuinely good samurai movie, as well as the upcoming One Piece show and the Saint Seiya movie). As for the anime, I could see them being interested, especially since the whole financial implosion has them getting MORE anime while canceling domestic productions.

Another day, another dead Russian general. This brings the total dead to 9.

Ok, final episode of Shenmue, here we go. And I automatically wished that I heard this instead - This final episode seems to be mixing the finale of Shenmue II (the helicopter and fight on the rooftop) and III (Ryo finally coming to blows with Lan Di but proving unable to defeat him). As a game ending III's ending was shit, but as a cliffhanger to a first season, it actually kind of works. Just as long as they don't repeat it. Wong tossing. That sounds wrong if you say it a certain way. And now all the lessons come full circle because...this is a kung fu movie. And so the cycle of revenge goes on. So this whole time, Lan Di was after treasure? That's what this was all about? He killed a man for revenge, and money? It makes his pursuit of revenge seem even pettier, which...actually kind of works given this whole series' viewpoint on revenge. "Revenge, the most worthless of causes." It does explain why Ren wants to tag along, he wants the treasure! And here come the goodbyes to people we won't be seeing in the next game. "Yeah, your brother and I fought. I beat his ass. He wore some weird makeup and outfit." (At least I think that was her brother). That's one way to introduce Shenuia. A goat. This entire show was named after a tree. A tree. Sure, why not? I'll file that under the "reasons Yakuza made it big in the US but Shenmue is a cult hit." The Story Goes On. Except you know, the Crunchyroll buyout has completely killed any chance of this getting a Season 2. At least Sega's Yakuza movie hasn't been cast yet. Actually, at the rate things are going Sega is going to make a Persona movie next to their planned Streets of Rage movie. Where was I going with this? Right, the story goes on. Just probably not in animated form without a new buyer. And that was Shenmue: The Animation, which is the best Crunchyroll original by a mile, although that is such a low bar to clear you could probably just step over it by lightly raising your foot. It condenses Yu Suzuki's frankly obtuse vision of an open world game that boiled down to a detective simulator into a kung fu movie that makes the hilariously robotic characters seem more human, thanks to more competent dubbing and tighter pacing. Its weaknesses are the games weaknesses, namely the meandering that is a decent amount of Shenmue II's mid-game. And of course, the cliffhanger, which seemed like a great idea before the Crunchyroll buyout. Compared to Onyx Equinox and High Guardian Spice though, it's the freaking 36th Chamber of Shaolin.

Hazbin Hotel - Hell is getting interest in your animated pilot

Angel Dust redesign with significantly less chest fluff, so it doesn’t look like he has breasts. -
It's right after a bunch of new shows. I wouldn't sound the "Toonami is DEAD!" alarm just yet, but I think everyone knew that the all the mergers and purchases, combined with Warner Media deciding to just sell their anime distributor, was going to make this a pretty tough stretch of time. Uzumaki is still coming out, and I presume DeMarco has money for something to go, especially as Netflix eschews more artsty productions in favor of whatever can secure more subscribers. Linear TV, for better or for worse, is simply not how people consume stuff like anime anymore. We don't live in the days of Blockbuster where the court of public opinion and limited selection would probably shame most people from watching stuff like My Hero Academia, let alone Bastard!! That made blocks like Toonami invaluable, but no more.

Is it too early to call Shenmue the best of the Crunchyroll originals?
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
With the show about to wrap, even if doesn't get a Season 2...yes, yes it's the best CR Original, if only because the competition is so utterly wretched. -
It seems to be a token attempt so they can shit on GOP candidates in battleground states by saying they voted no to the good stuff in it.

Shenmue Episode 12 - "Guidepost" Discussion Thread
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
You know, the guy in the costume was a big climactic boss fight you had to win twice. Here, Ryo remembers all the Wuda and just whoops his ass. Now if only his fists could penetrate Dou Niu's fat. Joy, it's nice you want to do this for Ryo, but his only love right now is vengeance. Lan Di! I don't remember if he jumped off the chopper to directly confront Ryo in the game, but it appears the season (and more than likely, series) will end with the two confronting each other again.- 80 replies

Shenmue Episode 12 - "Guidepost" Discussion Thread

For some reason, the website is down, so I can't watch it just yet. I could watch the subtitled version if it's not up in a few hours, but I've been watching the dub because it actually kind of works, unlike the game dub.- 80 replies

We’re averaging about 1 dead Russian general a week. Most militaries don’t lose a general in their entire campaign unless they’re being invaded because they should never be so close to the front.
