This almost felt like an apology after Killing Joke's decidedly divided reception. It's a classic JLU episode with a new heroine, Jessica Cruz, a Lantern DC has been trying to push these past few years due to her heritage and the fact that she's overcoming a lot of issues. But it still feels like JLU, the visuals, the writing (unlike Batman and Harley Quinn which had the visuals, but felt more like a dry run for the Harley TV show even if that Harley was more into Dick Grayson's...you know), the voices, and the structure. It all comes together really well and is a worthy addition to the Justice League's robust animated history.

I don't get what people see in this show. Intentionally poor animation is still poor animation, the idea that we're supposed to take this weird parody from the Superjail guy semi-serious is absolutely wild to me, and the comparisons to freaking Space Battleship Yamato 2199, which is an absolute epic of a space opera that more people really should watch, is damn near insulting. (To be fair, I was equally insulted at an indie game called Jumplight Odyssey that's essentially "What if Yamato 2199 looked and was written like She-Ra and the Princesses of Power? The answer is "Fuck you for this, burn it.") I know they can't air Yamato 2199 because Crunchyroll, but still...

I still think all these years later Adams is still bitter that the Dilbert TV show only lasted a single season, and he's blaming everyone and everything else for it.

The days of weebs and other fans making media their entire personality are, if not in the past, being pushed back against (thankfully) but so are the days of hiding any affection for the medium.

Also while no new cuts are made, Zaslav is promising them.

The cuts will continue until morale improves.

The Menu - 8/10. An example of a film carried by its antagonist, if you can call Chef Slowick a full on antagonist (he stems closer to villain protagonist) whose skewering of haute cuisine is pretty damn funny. Anna Taylor Joy is a good actress but she doesn’t get nearly enough to do until the end.

Not sure if it’s an increase in the activity so much as an increase in people being caught. Enforcement always brings more cases to the limelight.

If this goes through, it won’t help with the Russian brain drain.

I must concur context is king. Zaslav didn’t start any wars.

They should have animated Injustice vs Masters of the Universe. This movie was too quickly paced, too disjointed with its plot, and the ending flat out completely misses the point of the Injustice story, that Clark going on a murder spree is something terrible and that force CANNOT and WILL NOT restore Lois. It’s why all the stories in this universe end with Superman and the Regime eventually falling, be it to good Superman, Batman restoring the Justice League, or yeah, He-Man. It’s a rejection of the idea that Superman has to kill to be relevant. And this film ignored that completely in favor of a “happy” ending where a new Lois emerges, but Lois is the only thing keeping this Superman from going insane.

Hey, they don’t show up in this movie. Don’t make people think it’s cool.

I remember way back when they released those 2 minute promos a month out. Those were the days, but they weren’t terrified of everyone running to Crunchyroll back then.
