Why the hell would you go into a remake of an old show and expect them to change a classic pairing into a nonsensical yaoi ship? You expected it to just override everything done before? My problem is it has too much Avatar stuff. The fight scenes are all on foot. The conversations are Avatar based. You have a giant robot, use it! Build the pairings from the original show dammit! I don't want these people near classic franchises because everyone thinks they need to be Korra clones.

For all the whining and discourse, the show is meh this season. There's a quote from a Taiwanese viewer on Reddit that sums up the whole thing - ‘I can’t figure out what these Americans are trying to do’ That's telling. I think some fans and new viewers wanted this - And they got...this. That...sucked.

Netflix trying to murder Toonami

You're still waiting once a week. You're not binging the whole season as soon as it hits. -
Netflix trying to murder Toonami

Yeah, that's the issue with ashcan copies. But Netflix, Crunchyroll, FUNi, they all win on quantity. Here's the steps for your average Toonami pickup. 1. Get rights. 2. Hide it till the last possible moment. 3. Schedule it without making Toei mad. 4. Promote it. 5. Air it. On-Demand? 1. Get rights. 2. Promote it. 3. Put it up for viewing. By virtue of not having to worry about specific time slots, Netflix can air a lot more material than Toonami does, and get it out to people much faster. And this makes DeMarco mad. . DeMarco, and he has admitted this, is a traditionalist when it comes to television. You watch what we schedule, once a week, and you wait. We show nothing beforehand because that builds hype. And if you're not sitting down in front of your TV at the dedicated time, tough. Netflix is the complete antithesis of everything DeMarco likes in traditional network television. Television on the viewers time, television for binge watching and finishing at odd hours, and television where the viewer chooses when to watch. I think that's the source of his anger. It used to be that he was the only guy who knew how to do anime right because Fox were filled with executives that had no respect for the medium. Now it's a new distribution method leaving him in the dust. DeMarco wanted to air Seven Deadly Sins and Cannon Busters his way, once a week, Saturday night. I wonder if the idea of someone watching anime on Netflix on a Sunday afternoon hurts him. -

Toonami also wasn't about to create revivals of Devilman and Saint Seiya. -

I found Seven Deadly Sins and Kuromukuro the superiors of a lot of Toonami shows. To be fair, Sins isn't as memetastic, except for macro waifu. -

Ohh, Pookie. I should feel terrible I can watch stuff at a decent hour! Netflix isn't Fox Kids. They're showing this stuff uncensored. They're showing it on demand. And they're bankrolling stuff now. -
No, I agree. Unless fear of being outed IS the story, just say it!

Still, it's one thing to go "BTW they're gay" because that isn't normalizing, it's fetishizing. Look, my list of issues with Voltron has only grown with each season, (when I expect the action from a Brave Series show and I get poor man's Avatar) but that would put the series right in the shit category. Hey, Japan? Can you remake Voltes V already? It'd be better than this. Hell, Dagwon is better than this.

That is a load and you know it.

But it makes no sense in the context of the show for their relationship to be romantic.
-
It can be read either way but his tone and actions are rather overt. Also Lauren Montgomery said in an interview the KL ship wasn't happening.

So, can we agree the best part of Super looks like that Arc System Works fighting game?

This season was short, lacked exciting set pieces, and really makes me hope they kill Shiro next season so the main cast can move on. On the plus side, Sven returning was hilarious and the classic crew is back, which further intensifies my desire to kill Shiro. As for ye olde Blue Paladin, they had no subtext or shame about him being gay, so that just reinforces Keith being socially awkward despite his caring for the princess. (His attempt to comfort her was kinda sweet).

Physical media.

At the rate things are going Sony might buy that shit too. Besides, Crunchyroll only licenses. FUNi distributes.

Anyway, old show is old. But Oda is too busy trying to make One Piece the next Game of Thrones in the US.

Archie Officially Cancels Sonic the Hedgehog

The fact that IDW in their quest for ALL THE LICENSES picked this up makes me sad. Let Sonic die...or at least remain a goofy gag comic. Nothing epic about it. -
Yeah, that was getting sad and hilarious by R5, with the head patting.

The problem is most of those niches are being filled by other avenues rendering Toonami redundant. I also blame Toei. -

I bet anything it's Toei's fault.
