  1. https://twitter.com/slutpilled/status/1632789128373755905?s=46&t=qkEIjJHbOepJnnU58px_yQ Twitter is busted because in an attempt to charge for the API, it destroyed access to links.
  2. Executive bonuses are now directly tied to debt reduction and cash flow, so expect more cuts.
  3. Demon Slayer Swordsmith village movie - Two words - Cash. Grab. They didn’t even take out the goddamn credits when the old episode ended and the new one was about to start! It’s still beautifully animated but you are missing nothing unless you want to see the new episode of the new season early.
  4. Creed III won the box office with $58 million, so given Michael B. Jordan’s admitted (and obvious in the cinematography) anime influence, it was a good week for anime at the box office.

  5. I like the block, I like the shows on it when they’re around, but it does feel like a lot of times Toonami is less a block to watch and more of a guide on what shows to watch elsewhere. Does that make sense? The only exceptions were their originals, and yes I’m still pissed tax BS is why we’re not getting a Season 2 of Shenmue.
  6. It reminded me of Superman/Batman Public Enemies, but it didn’t NEARLY commit to the bit the way that movie did. Granted, the difference there was that Lex Luthor was the president and MHA didn’t have a Luthor equivalent, but heroes hunting Deku would have been a sight to see.
  7. Huh, I posted about this in the anime folder. No less than Ralph Bakshi emerged to dunk on it, and he was the guy who used rotoscoping to attempt to adapt The Lord of the Rings (obviously his version was inferior to Peter Jackson’s, but points for effort).
  8. Creed III - 8.5/10 Michael B. Jordan was not lying. He took the archetypal sports movie in Rocky and combined it with a shounen rivalry. The end result is probably the equivalent to the higher tier Rocky films (3, Balboa, and Creed II) with some of the most creative fight choreography and filming I’ve ever seen in a boxing movie, more reminiscent of a fight in Hajime no Ippo than the previous Rocky films. That said, it’s got some beats that are a bit underdeveloped, so it’s not Rocky I or Creed I. (To be fair, those were both Oscar nominated with Rocky I Best Picture winner).
  9. If nothing else, a write off of Grunge would be a waste of perfectly good Pillows songs. That being said, I could easily see a summer release.
  10. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2023-03-02/sentai-filmworks-announces-new-partnership-with-mbs-licenses-the-most-heretical-last-boss-queen-/.195522 AMC hasn't made huge moves with Sentai since the purchase...until now.
  11. It’s open season on the civil end.
  12. Apparently said techbros used Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust as their art style to train the AI on. But since Bakshi is one of the best known rotoscoping animators, his opinion is especially valid (and hilarious).
  13. They specifically described what they made as anime.
  14. If 84 year old Ralph Baskhi emerges to clown on your AI's attempt at rotoscoping, you fucked up.
  15. I still don't get how Birdgirl got a second season. I do understand that Jellystone! and Warner's desire to use the Hanna-Barbera characters for something besides satire and stoner shows made everything people liked about Harvey Birdman off limits, but still, Birdgirl is a pointless show when you get down to it on the level of AfterM.A.S.H. With that being said, April Fools, if it occurs on Saturday or Sunday, might just go with an old reliable airing of The Room or some other low-budget film clumsily edited for the joke. The running of Adult Swim feels so chaotic lately with the ratings fails and the other stuff that a big, elaborate prank feels like their last priority. You can do that when you're on top, not when it's all hands on deck because the company's CEO keeps writing off your shows for the tax benefits.
  16. https://www.independent.co.uk/tech/twitter-down-not-working-elon-musk-b2291878.html Massive outages on the heels of firing everyone. Who would have guessed?
  17. The only show that DeMarco expressed interest in these past few months that wasn't off-limits for whatever reason was Urusei Yatsura, which is set to debut on HiDive tomorrow. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2023-02-27/new-urusei-yatsura-anime-english-dub-streams-on-march-1/.195380 Granted, I think airing Yatsura is a really bad idea, but it's the only dub that DeMarco has expressed interest in that's actually available and ready to go.
  18. A24 wouldn’t do that. Right?
  19. Mustaches? The Urusei Yatsura dub Sentai just cast? I’m actually wondering if all the Roiland stuff (April is apparently his next court appearance) will make them hold off on new Rick tie-ins.
  20. More animation, no announcements concerning where it’s going to air.
  21. You add a bit to the sauce to counter the acidity, last I checked. Not a ton, it's not a goddamn sugar bowl, but a bit. Every good recipe I've seen for slow-cooked sauce has some.
  22. It’s stop motion which is new. I can tell that the Psyduck looks lost.
