  1. Crunchyroll throws shade at their rival streamer over the project. https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-feature/2021/11/01/feature-is-it-even-possible-to-make-a-live-action-one-piece?utm_source=community_cr&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=news_feature_tweet_from_author&referrer=community_cr_twitter_news_feature_tweet_from_author Here I am thinking “Bitch, you funded High Guardian Spice. Shut the fuck up and don’t throw stones from your glass house.”
  2. Apparently the show also has Gravity Falls vets and is worth watching for that.
  3. The manga is the only one in the top 20 adult graphic novels charts without an adaptation. It was inevitable.
  4. Part II trailer trying to tell people they’re sorry for the Part I hiccups - Also new voices announced - Danny Trejo as Machete and Method Man as Clamp Champ.
  5. Can we talk about something that's been bugging me a bit? Not the show itself, the horse is pretty much glue, but the feeling that a lot of writers writing shows for young adults write them as kids shows? That's how you end up with kids shows where no kids watch like The Owl House (which is cancelled) or this mess which is essentially a kids show with some blood and gore added in (and no network censoring the word transgender). Is it just me or does that feel really...immature? If you're a kids show, shouldn't you be targeting kids? If you're for an older audience shouldn't the writing reflect that? I'm spitballing here but this show was dumpster fire from Day 1 and now sits at a 1.5/5 rating. In contrast, EX-Arm sits at 1.7/5, Onyx Equinox despite its poor view count has a 4/5, and The Rising of the Shield Hero has a 4.8/5.
  6. New trailer, still looks like QUALITY.
  7. FX (before FXX) had one possible entry into action cartoons, and they turned it down when they didn’t pick up Attack on Titan. I see no reason they would go in now.
  8. It exists. Well great. That’s literally the sum total of what Crunchyroll will say (that and an inexplicable mature content warning, and don’t say it’s because they have transsexual characters, Zombieland Saga has the trans girl and has no such disclaimer). It exists. It’s not getting a mural next to Madison Square Garden, that’s for sure. Knicks fans were greeted with this when the season started if they leave on 31st street.
  9. I don’t hate it. I think it’s sort of the split you expect, when a cartoon tries to be live action, the live action tries to be a cartoon. And they split the difference.
  10. New update - Yes for $2000 you get all the other rewards and an opportunity to audition to be part of the dub in this song.
  11. Would anyone believe before the CR sale Mob was on HBO Max?
  12. RIP to one of those unmistakable voices.
  13. And here I thought “next DC movie release Toonami’s best chance for ratings gold would be a Peacemaker marathon” was the most unpopular opinion of the week.
  14. Meanwhile Toonami hasn’t gotten the second.
  15. I know FUNi has some entries, and Netflix has the Hathaway movies. It’s evenly divided.
  16. I meant the Crunchyroll sale to Sony. Those anime are likely leaving HBO Max very soon if they haven’t already.
  17. It was a blatant kids show that also got completely clobbered by the much more adult Hellsing Ultimate, and as per DeMarco was the show they also got the most complaints about. I won’t lie though, if the next DC movie release has Toonami air a Peacemaker marathon, ratings will go through the roof.
  18. I meant Gundam. Kaisen was actually on HBO Max but with the sale final I expect it to go if not gone already.
  19. Netflix has that on lockdown…where it gets good views. I swear, if the Netflix Bebop or Yu Yu Hakusho become hits and get SNL skits or something, I expect DeMarco to scream. Or TOM to make a very angry speech towards Netflix.
  20. A lot of the comic stuff was tied into Infinite Crisis. This lets it stand alone.
  21. That’s pretty much it. This isn’t anime vs US cartoons, it’s what’s readily available vs what isn’t. I still think Peacemaker probably would send the views through the roof. You can’t see him but you can see the ratings.
  22. Yeah, Beware the Batman did so well… Maybe they should split the difference and just air Peacemaker -
