Food Wars! The Third Plate 23-24 Episode Discussion

Don't let the nostalgia glasses fool you, the ending kinda went to shit. In retrospect, a fitting analogy to Sorbo. -
Food Wars! The Third Plate 23-24 Episode Discussion

"0.1 mm" noodles? Sorry, don't think it's supposed to feel like eating cotton candy. -
It was literally [fighters] vs [fighters] in structured fights. How is it not a tournament?

It's finally over. Controversial opinion: Tournament arcs are lazy boring writing that do next to nothing to progress any of the story.

Eh, all I'm saying is, if the idea is to imbue bacon-ness into a dish, wrapping in bacon just seems like the least elegant means to accomplish it. Ok, hear me out. Chicken breasts, big and plump, fit for cutting a pocket for stuffing. Cook your bacon in a pan as usual, nice and crispy, save the fat. Chop the cooked bacon and make, like, a cheddary, peppery stuffing. Maybe some onions, or those scallions would do. Jalapeno? That could maybe work, too. Stuff and cook, and I'm just assuming a grill is involved, so take that reserved bacon fat and baste those bitches. You've got bacon-ness outside, bacon-ness inside, with none of the flaccid-ness of bacon-wrapped anything. Idk. It gets the job done. But I think there must be better ways of achieving that marriage of not just flavors but also textures. It's tasty, but maybe doesn't quite live up to its potential. That said, I have also had this idea for bacon-wrapped grilled cantaloupe that I think might have some merit...

Controversial opinion: I never understood the point of "bacon-wrapped" anything. For me, the whole purpose of bacon is to get somewhere along the way to crispy. But, wrapped around any bit of meat, it just fails to achieve anything resembling what it should be capable of. It's still just a bit of soggy floppy chewy fat. If the whole point is to sacrifice some bacon to imbue its essence into the actual dish, surely basting with bacon fat would get there all the same. Or some sort of bacon-based stuffing (cooked, chopped, mixed with... idk, something). I don't think I've ever enjoyed eating the bacon from any bacon-wrapped dish. And that's just a bit disappointing.

...So why, if he had control of revival fluid, did he not simply go straight for his sister to begin with? Tsukasa has always had flawed character motivation. Starting to see a trend here of poorly thought out characterization that comes back to bite the writers in the ass when they actually have to justify it.

Was Eva really all that good to begin with?

Been a while since youtube sent me somewhere weird... -
A youtube recommendation that reminded me of this show. It's basically Akira. Right?

I remember this game back on Genesis. I remember never making it very far. I remember many years later finally looking up a long play, and realizing just how much I had never seen. I remember being dumbfounded at the bizarre settings near the end. Mostly I remember it not being very fun.

BGM is kinda the best part of all of this, probably. Everything else kinda lacks the same luster. But, maybe that's just the nostalgia goggles.

Rick & Morty Season 5 June 20th...
rpgamer replied to katt_goddess's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Nowhere to go from here but up, I guess. Idk if it's just because I'm not paying attention to the right circles, but, kinda feels to me like much of the novelty shock value has worn off. The hype has moved on. Combined with the general waning interest in cable offerings, just doesn't seem like there's as much buzz anymore. -

So, like, the whole human side is just... cool with random kids showing up from the demon portal? Nobody's going to question what's going on with that whole peace treaty thing that's preventing war from breaking out all over again?

Yeah, I never expected a satisfying end to this one. The whole premise was flawed against having things finish all neat and tidy.

Nah, this very much feels like a "shit, we wrote ourselves into a corner" finale. They wrote some big checks early on that they just couldn't cash. Wrap up quick before anyone questions all the loose ends.
